Production Supervisor

About the role

  • The Production Supervisor leads shift operations in SeAH Superalloy Technologies' melting, remelting and finishing areas, producing nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys for aerospace, power generation and other demanding applications. The role directs hourly operators to meet daily production, quality and delivery targets while keeping safety first. The supervisor is the main link between the shop floor and engineering, quality, maintenance and planning, and drives continuous improvement in yield, uptime, and cost.

What you'll do

Safety and compliance

  • Enforce all EHS policies, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout and confined-space procedures.
  • Lead shift safety meetings, investigate incidents and near misses, and close corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental permits and company standards.

Production and scheduling

  • Plan and assign daily work to meet the production schedule for melting, remelting, forging prep, finishing and inspection.
  • Monitor furnace and process performance against heat specifications, cycle times and yield targets.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Maintenance and Logistics to minimize downtime and keep material flowing.
  • Track and report shift KPIs: output, yield, scrap, uptime, on-time delivery and labor efficiency.

Quality

  • Ensure work follows approved procedures, routers and customer specifications.
  • Support AS9100 / ISO 9001 and Nadcap requirements, including documentation and traceability of every heat and lot.
  • Partner with Quality and Metallurgy to contain nonconforming material and drive root-cause and corrective action (8D, 5-Why).

People leadership

  • Supervise, coach and develop hourly operators and lead persons.
  • Conduct onboarding, cross-training and skills certification; maintain training records.
  • Handle attendance, performance reviews and discipline fairly and in line with company policy.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork and open communication across shifts.

Continuous improvement

  • Lead lean and 5S initiatives, standard work and kaizen events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve yield, energy use, consumable cost and throughput.
  • Support new equipment start-ups, process qualifications and customer audits.

Communication

  • Run clear shift handoffs and document production, quality and equipment issues.
  • Escalate safety, quality or delivery risks to management promptly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in operations management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred. 
• 5+ years of manufacturing, production supervision, or operations leadership experience in an industrial environment preferred. 
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production operations, safety standards, and quality systems. 
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment. 
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound operational decisions under pressure. 
• Experience with ERP systems, production reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications. 
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency practices preferred. 
• Experience in aerospace, metals, specialty materials, or industrial manufacturing preferred. 
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support operational goals. 
• Supervisory or leadership training certifications are a plus.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing and operational areas for extended periods. 
• Regular use of hands for computer work, documentation, equipment interaction, and operational activities. 
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or move materials or equipment components up to 25 lbs as needed. 
• Work performed in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and industrial conditions. 
• Frequent interaction with production personnel, equipment, raw materials, and operational systems throughout the facility. 
• Ability to read production reports, technical documents, schedules, gauges, and electronic communications accurately. 
• Occasional extended hours, weekends, or shift flexibility may be required to support production schedules and operational demands. 
• Must be able to comply with all company safety policies, operational procedures, and PPE requirements. 
• Ability to respond to operational issues quickly and effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment. 
• Occasional participation in training, audits, meetings, or operational improvement projects may be required.
