Regional Business Development Manager, Northeast

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Regional Business Development Manager to work remotely out of the Northeast Region of the US!


Preferred locations for this role are Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Your, Massachusetts or Connecticut.


Sedron is a leading provider of circular waste management technologies for agricultural manure and municipal biosolids processing, deploying facilities across several North American regions. Since its founding in 2014, Sedron has pioneered innovative solutions, including the patented Varcor® system, to transform waste into clean water, organic fertilizer, and carbon-negative commodities. With strong engineering expertise, Sedron’s processes reduce nutrient pollution, lower operational expenses, and promote sustainability at a fraction of traditional costs. 



The Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) partners to lead Sedron's Municipal Business Development strategy and advance high-value capital project opportunities from initial market identification through project qualification within the Sedron Capital Project System (SedCAPS). This role builds and sustains strategic customer relationships, identifies new market opportunities, develops commercial business cases, and ensures every project enters execution with a strong commercial foundation.


Serving as the commercial owner through project origination & qualification, the BDM partners closely with the Project Development organization to keep customer requirements, commercial commitments, and business objectives aligned as projects advance through the stage-gate process. This is a highly visible, externally facing leadership role for someone who thrives on building relationships, shaping deals, and translating market opportunity into durable business value. 


Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:


  • Develop and execute commercial development strategies that support Sedron's long-term growth objectives 
  • Identify, prioritize, and develop opportunities across municipal markets 
  • Establish regional market strategies and identify emerging market opportunities 
  • Build executive-level relationships with customers, strategic partners, utilities, municipalities, engineering firms, developers, and regulatory stakeholders 
  • Represent Sedron at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings 
  • Lead commercial opportunity identification and qualification 
  • Direct opportunity sourcing activities and pipeline development 
  • Lead preliminary techno-economic assessments (TEA) and initial business case development in partnership with Finance and Project Development 
  • Develop work plans and budgets in collaboration with Project Development 
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including Letters of Intent (LOIs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), partnership agreements, and commercial contracts 
  • Maintain executive customer relationships throughout project development 
  • Build commercial confidence with customers and key stakeholders 
  • Provide commercial input into project economics and investment decisions 
  • Partner with Project Development to align commercial and technical project objectives 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and Executive Leadership 
  • Support Executive Leadership with investment recommendations and Board-level presentations 
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians, engineers, and operators
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive, bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
  • Maintain reliable attendance, arriving on time and ready to contribute
  • Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, or a related discipline required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial development, business development, infrastructure development, or capital project origination within the wastewater or biosolids markets
  • Proficiency with CRM and opportunity-pipeline management tools, financial modeling and business case development software, and contract management systems
  • Demonstrated success developing and negotiating complex commercial agreements. Strong understanding of project finance, business case development, and investment decision-making
  • Demonstrated success advancing projects through permitting, commercial agreements, financial evaluation, and investment approval

  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory disciplines 
  • Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure development, environmental permitting, and project finance

  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language


 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Compensation for this role is between $130,000 - 170,000 annually
  • This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
  • This role requires approximately 75% travel (mostly within your assigned territory)
  • In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
