Social Commerce Club

Head of TikTok Shop

About Social Commerce Club

Social Commerce Club sits at the intersection of eCommerce, content, and social media. We help brands turn attention into revenue by building systems that connect creators, content, paid media, and commerce.

Whether it’s TikTok Shop, YouTube Shopping, or the next platform that has not launched yet, our focus is always the same: helping brands adapt quickly, grow profitably, and win on social commerce platforms.

Our job is not just to make great content or run profitable ads. It is to merge content, creators, paid amplification, and commerce into a scalable growth engine for brands.

Mission

To build, lead, and scale Social Commerce Club’s TikTok Shop growth engine.

You are responsible for the performance, profitability, and operational excellence of all TikTok Shop pods. Your mission is to drive strong client outcomes, scale GMV across the portfolio, and maintain a high-efficiency delivery model that supports a 70% gross margin standard through systems, automation, playbooks, and strong operating leverage.

The Role

As the Head of TikTok Shop, you sit at the intersection of growth strategy, service delivery, leadership, and profitability.

You do not just manage people. You manage the “product” of our TikTok Shop service. You are the architect of the TTS playbook, the mentor to the Strategists, and the owner of the systems that allow our TikTok Shop department to scale.

This role requires both strategic thinking and operational depth. You should be able to lead a high-level client strategy conversation, diagnose why a shop is underperforming, identify creator or affiliate bottlenecks, and then inspect pod workflows to find where execution can become more efficient.

You will be responsible for building a TikTok Shop operating system that drives GMV growth, creator scale, client retention, team development, and healthy department margins.

What You’ll Own

1. TikTok Shop Strategy & Growth Standards

The TTS Playbook: Develop and refine the “TTS Way,” our standardized methodology for shop structure, creator scaling, affiliate performance, offer strategy, content-to-commerce workflows, paid amplification, and shop health.

Portfolio Growth: Own the systems and standards that drive TikTok Shop GMV growth across the client portfolio, including creator activation, affiliate GMV, paid amplification, promotional strategy, and conversion improvements.

Platform Expertise: Maintain a forward-looking view of TikTok Shop platform changes, beta features, policy shifts, and emerging growth tactics, translating them into team workflows before competitors react. Ensure department recommendations remain compliant with TikTok Shop policies, affiliate rules, promotional requirements, product claims limitations, and seller performance standards.

Performance Standards: Define what great TikTok Shop execution looks like across pods, including creator outreach, affiliate management, product seeding, content performance, ad integration, reporting, and client communication.

Product/Listing Quality Ownership: Define and enforce shop readiness standards across PID architecture, hero SKU selection, bundles, title quality, image stacks, descriptions, attributes, reviews, commission setup, inventory resilience, and creator/ad readiness.

2. Pod Performance & Department Economics

Margin Optimization: Own the TikTok Shop department’s delivery economics. Build a delivery model that drives strong client outcomes while maintaining a 70% gross margin standard through systems, automation, staffing leverage, and reduction of low-leverage manual work.

Performance Oversight: Monitor pod-level execution, client KPIs, GMV trends, creator activity, SLA adherence, and account health. Intervene when pods fall behind or when client outcomes are at risk.

Efficiency Audits: Conduct regular pod audits to ensure Command Center hygiene, scope discipline, clean workflows, and consistent execution. Identify delivery inefficiencies, scope creep, rework, and manual tasks that can be reduced or automated.

Resource Planning: Partner with the Head of Service Delivery to forecast capacity, monitor utilization, and trigger hiring or support only when needed to maintain quality, client outcomes, and department profitability.

3. Leadership & Talent Development

Strategist Management: Directly manage TikTok Shop Strategists through weekly 1:1s focused on portfolio health, client performance, margin awareness, execution quality, and professional growth.

Team Development: Build a clear talent bench from Associate to Strategist, ensuring team members understand the standards, workflows, and decision-making required to operate in a high-output TikTok Shop environment.

Training & Enablement: Create training systems, scorecards, SOPs, and feedback loops that help the team improve performance without relying on constant one-off management.

Hiring: Lead the technical interview process for new TikTok Shop hires, ensuring candidates have the platform knowledge, growth mindset, operating discipline, and systems thinking required to succeed.

4. High-Stakes Client Success

Escalation Lead: Serve as the primary point of contact for “Code Red” TikTok Shop client situations. Diagnose root causes, develop save plans, and guide the team through sensitive renewals or performance issues.

Strategic Advisory: Join QBRs and key client conversations for top-tier accounts to provide executive-level confidence, growth recommendations, and expansion ideas.

Churn Mitigation: Partner with Client Success and department leadership to maintain logo churn targets, conduct post-mortems on lost accounts, and translate learnings into improvements in the TikTok Shop playbook.

Client Outcomes: Ensure the department is not only delivering tasks, but driving measurable business outcomes for clients, including GMV growth, creator performance, content volume, shop health, and retention.

5. Systems & Automation Partnership

Operational Leverage: Identify delivery bottlenecks and partner with Ops, Dev, and leadership to automate, offshore, or “SaaSify” repeatable manual tasks such as reporting, creator outreach, performance monitoring, briefing, and workflow QA.

Dashboard Visibility: Ensure dashboards exist so delivery health, client performance, strategist workload, pod margins, and account risk are visible weekly and actionable daily.

Process Improvement: Continuously improve the systems that allow the department to scale without adding unnecessary headcount or complexity.

Creator System: Own the creator scaling system across the department, including creator sourcing standards, outreach volume targets, sample approval criteria, post-rate tracking, creator segmentation, Spark code follow-up, affiliate incentive testing and reactivation workflows.

Your Department Scorecard

  • Portfolio GMV and MoM growth
  • Affiliate/creator GMV
  • Active creator count, sample approval volume, creator post rate, and shoppable video volume
  • GMV Max spend, ROAS, Spark content volume, and channel cost
  • Shop health score, violations, LDR, cancellation rate, and listing quality
  • Hero SKU performance, PID structure, review coverage, and inventory readiness
  • Client retention, churn risk, and escalation resolution
  • Pod utilization, strategist workload, SLA adherence, reporting quality, and department gross margin

Success Looks Like

In your first 90–180 days, success looks like:

  • The TTS Playbook is documented, adopted, and actively used across pods.
  • Pod-level performance, workload, and profitability dashboards are live and reviewed consistently.
  • Strategist scorecards are implemented and used in 1:1s.
  • Creator scaling workflows are standardized across the department.
  • Top client risks have clear save plans and owners.
  • Manual reporting, creator outreach, or workflow bottlenecks have been reduced through automation, offshore support, or improved SOPs.
  • The department is operating at or trending toward the 70% gross margin standard without sacrificing client outcomes.
  • TikTok Shop performance standards are clear, measurable, and consistently reinforced across the team.

Decision Rights

Strategic: Full authority over departmental SOPs, TikTok Shop standards, and the TTS Playbook.

Personnel: Authority to reassign team members between pods to balance workload, protect quality, and maintain department efficiency.

Financial: Approval of pod-level resource spends, including freelancers, tools, and specialized support, provided the 70% margin threshold is maintained.

Escalation Required For: Any structural change that drops pod margins below 65%, budget changes greater than 20% at the department level, or termination of key personnel.

You’ll Thrive Here If You...

  • Have successfully scaled high-volume TikTok Shop accounts and understand the platform’s growth levers, operational pain points, and common failure modes.
  • Understand the relationship between creators, content, affiliates, paid amplification, offers, shop health, and GMV growth.
  • Think in systems and naturally look for ways to turn repeatable work into SOPs, dashboards, automations, offshore support, or tooling.
  • Are a “manager-doer” who can lead a senior client strategy meeting and then audit a pod’s workflow, time usage, or execution quality.
  • Are comfortable owning both growth outcomes and service economics.
  • Care deeply about team development and know how to turn strong operators into stronger Strategists.
  • Are obsessed with the economics of service and understand how time, talent, systems, and client outcomes translate into profitability.
  • Want to build one of the strongest TikTok Shop service engines in the market
