The SSR Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the Site Survey Review (SSR) department by owning operational tasks, resolving exceptions, and ensuring projects continue moving through the pipeline with minimal disruption. This role serves as the go-to resource for issues that fall outside the standard SSR workflow, partnering with internal departments to identify solutions, remove roadblocks, and improve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. A strong understanding of residential electrical systems and solar operations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of operational tasks that fall outside the standard SSR review process.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve project issues that prevent progression through the pipeline.
  • Coordinate with Design, Permitting, Construction, Scheduling, Service, Sales, and other departments to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Investigate project discrepancies and determine the best path forward.
  • Manage escalated or complex SSR-related cases from assignment through resolution.
  • Track operational issues and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce future exceptions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining department SOPs, documentation, and workflow improvements.
  • Perform quality reviews of project documentation when necessary.
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems.
  • Help ensure projects remain on schedule by proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in solar operations, construction operations, project coordination, electrical operations, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Residential solar industry experience.
  • Electrical knowledge or field construction experience.
  • Experience with Site Survey Review processes.
  • Knowledge of AHJ requirements, utility requirements, and permitting workflows.
  • Experience reading construction drawings, electrical plans, or site survey documentation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to view construction documents and digital plans for extended periods.
