This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys being on the floor with people, likes owning a program end to end, and is comfortable balancing day-to-day support with process and compliance work.
What you'll do:

- Advise employees and managers on policies, performance conversations, employee relations, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct and document employee relations investigations in partnership with HR leadership and legal as needed.
- Coach managers on day-to-day people issues, documentation, and consistent application of policy.
- Support onboarding and off-boarding, including new-hire orientation, exit interviews, and separation logistics.

Benefits administration
- Act as the primary benefits point of contact for employees, answering questions on medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and EAP.
- Partner closely with our benefits broker on plan renewals, vendor issues, claims escalations, and plan design input.
- Own open enrollment end to end: timeline, employee communications, info sessions, system setup, and post-enrollment audits.
- Manage benefits eligibility, qualifying life events, and carrier and payroll feeds to ensure data accuracy.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers.
- Support Canadian benefits administration in coordination with our providers.
Leaves of absence
- Administer leaves end to end, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short- and long-term disability, parental leave, and state and provincial programs (e.g., Colorado FAMLI).
- Guide employees through the leave process with clear, compassionate communication.
- Coordinate with managers, payroll, and leave/disability carriers on approvals, pay, and return-to-work plans.
Compliance, data & process
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and provincial employment and benefits requirements (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA).
- Support annual filings and testing in partnership with the broker and vendors (e.g., ACA reporting, 5500s, nondiscrimination testing).
- Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS and generate reports as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR and benefits processes, documentation, and the employee experience.
What you'll bring:
