About the role

• This internship will be remote work with the Quality Improvement (QI) and Real-World Evidence team at T1D Exchange. It will engage with real-world data platforms and leverage clinical datasets, using implementation science approaches to support population health research. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to work closely in the healthcare space while collaborating with a dynamic, highly interdisciplinary team. The intern will develop skills in quantitative and predictive data analysis using big data to advance diabetes care.

What you'll do

Assist in developing statistical analysis plans for manuscripts and abstracts

· Conduct predictive analytics and develop machine learning models to generate insights from electronic medical records from our QI database

· Identify and propose new areas of study aligned with the organization’s mission, informed trends in the type 1 diabetes community and internal data

· Assist in the preparation of a manuscript or abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Engineering, Computer science, Mathematics, or related field.

· Practical knowledge in predictive analytics including conducting linear and logistic regressions

· Experience coding in systems like R or Python

· Experience with data management and relational databases

· Ability to clearly present data summaries using visual formats (graphs, figures, and tables)

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
