About the role

  • The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting department by ensuring accuracy and integrity in the financial transactions and reporting processes. This position oversees the accuracy of general ledger account reconciliations, assists with month-end closing, and contributes to improving internal workflows and compliance.

What you'll do

  • Ensure the accuracy of entries made by A/P and A/R teams, providing oversight and support to maintain compliance and reduce errors.
  • Assist with the Month-End Closing process, including preparing and posting adjusting journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile multiple Trust Account ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state requirements.
  • Validate and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and client reimbursable accounts.
  • Run and analyze monthly invoice audits.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and assist in preparing financial reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Staff Accountant and Director of Accounting to address workflow improvements.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on General Ledger processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct,) and advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
