Maintenance Engineer

Drift Nashville | Nashville, TN

At Drift Nashville, we believe great hospitality starts with great spaces. We're looking for a skilled, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to help maintain our hotel and ensure an exceptional experience for every guest.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, building systems, and back-of-house areas. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes pride in their work, responds quickly to issues, and enjoys working in a collaborative hospitality environment.

What You'll Do

Property Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel and grounds
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems
  • Respond to guest and team member maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Complete routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
  • Perform painting, carpentry, drywall, and general repair work as needed
  • Maintain pool, spa, and outdoor areas as assigned
  • Assist with property improvement projects and capital upgrades

Operations & Facility Support

  • Support room turns and ensure guest rooms meet brand standards
  • Assist with furniture, fixture, and equipment installations and repairs
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and safety regulations
  • Participate in emergency response and property preparedness efforts as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or building operations experience
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify practical solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, resort, multifamily, or commercial property maintenance experience
  • Experience using maintenance tracking systems or work-order software
  • Pool certification or experience maintaining aquatic facilities
  • Trade certifications or specialized technical training

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use ladders and work at heights when necessary
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
