Job Summary:
As a Senior Financial Planning Specialist at Triad, you will be a key player in assisting our member firms with planning strategies, ranging from simple to advanced, to help their clients achieve their long-term financial objectives. You’ll utilize your expertise to provide advanced planning support, collaborate with member firms, and contribute to the strategic initiatives of Triad. Your role will involve a blend of hands-on financial planning, training, and project management, with a focus on elevating the capabilities of our member firms as they build businesses of significance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advanced Planning Support: Utilize your financial planning expertise to assist member firms with a range of planning strategies, from basic to complex, ensuring they meet their clients' long-term financial goals.
  2. Financial Plan Delivery: Clearly communicate financial plans as part of our Fractional Planning offering, including custom plan summary videos that are sent to our member firms.
  3. Technology and Tools Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on financial planning tools such as eMoney, Holistiplan, and Nitrogen. Provide guidance, training, and support to member firms in optimizing these tools for comprehensive financial planning.
  4. Member Firm Consultation: Act as a consultant to member firms, responding to, monitoring, and tracking incoming inquiries. Offer tailored guidance on financial planning strategies, with a particular emphasis on retirement planning and tax implications.
  5. Research and Insights: Conduct thorough research on complex financial planning issues, including tax and retirement planning. Provide insights and recommendations that enhance the planning strategies of member firms.
  6. Material Development: Create, revise, and present financial planning materials and deliverables to ensure they are technically accurate and accessible to a variety of audiences.
  7. Strategy and Innovation: Advocate for and contribute to the development of planning solutions and tools that align with Triad's mission. Drive innovation by managing and participating in projects that support member firms' success.
  8. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with partner firms, clients, and prospects to provide consulting services related to comprehensive financial planning. Maintain effective communication with Triad leadership and member firms to ensure high client satisfaction.
  9. Project Management: Lead and support planning-related projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the strategic goals of Triad.
  10. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes that may impact financial planning and advisory services. Share relevant insights with member firms and the Triad team.
  11. Thought Leadership: Contribute to Triad's thought leadership by taking initiative in areas such as innovation, creativity, and the development of best practices within the financial planning domain.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience building and delivering financial plans, with a strong focus on retirement planning and tax implications
  • Certifications: CFP certification highly preferred; additional certifications such as CRPC, CPFC, CPA, CFA, ChFC, RIPC, a plus
  • Technology: Proficient in financial planning software with ability to learn quickly. eMoney, Holistiplan and Nitrogen are the main tools we use
  • Communication: Must be able to present complex information clearly and effectively with an ability to simplify wherever possible. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion, with strong organizational skills.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across different levels of an organization.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the financial planning landscape, with a commitment to staying informed about new developments and best practices

  • Baseline understanding of financial planning principles surrounding the Five Worlds – Income, Investments, Tax, Health Care, Legacy

Functional Competencies:

  • Financial planning software proficiency (eMoney, Holistiplan, and Nitrogen expertise preferred) to create, monitor, and analyze financial plans.
  • Digital client engagement with our member firms to leverage tools for communication and service delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex financial concepts in a manner the clients of our member firms can understand.
  • Financial planning with a strong focus on tax planning and/or estate planning is greatly sought after
  • Retirement planning with a strong focus on needs analysis, income strategies and pension and social security optimization
  • Financial statement analysis, risk management analysis, and financial plan development
