About the role

The Trade Desk Manager is a senior leadership position within Triad Wealth's Investment Team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of our portfolio trading operations. In this role, you will lead and mentor a dedicated trading team, manage relationships with our advisors, custodial partners, technology providers, third-party investment managers, as well as key internal stakeholders across portfolio management, operations, technology and compliance divisions. You will drive continuous improvement across our trading processes and be instrumental in shaping Triad Wealth's trading strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and positioning our platform as the premier solution for seamless portfolio transitions and ongoing trade execution. This position reports directly to Triad Wealth's Chief Investment Officer.

What you'll do

  • Lead, mentor, and continue to develop a high-performing trading team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth across the trade desk.
  • Oversee all trading operations and facilitate transactions throughout market hours, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with firm investment decisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Management team to develop and execute trading strategy, including portfolio transitions, rebalancing initiatives, tax-loss harvesting programs and options-based separately managed accounts (SMAs).
  • Manage external relationships with Member firms, custodial partners, technology providers, and third-party investment managers, providing strategic consultation on Triad Wealth's investment process, trading technology, proprietary investment platform capabilities, and best practices for trade execution.
  • Collaborate with internal compliance, operations, and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of trading systems, processes, and compliance controls across the firm.
  • Direct the portfolio transition process for new Member firms, ensuring accurate and timely reallocations to managed portfolios and overseeing integration of trading systems and processes.
  • Establish and maintain trading policies, procedures, and operational guidelines; periodically review and update documentation to reflect evolving business needs and regulatory changes.
  • Monitor trading system dashboards, identify operational risks and inefficiencies, and implement process improvements and automation techniques to enhance the trading workflow.
  • Manage trading system integrations across the business, serving as the primary liaison between the Investment Team, Operations, Technology, and custodial partners to ensure seamless execution capabilities.
  • Oversee review, research, and resolution of unreconciled trades, trade errors, and discrepancies; work collaboratively with Member firms and custodians to resolve issues promptly and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain professional and prompt communication with Member firms, custodial partners, technology vendors, and internal teams; represent Triad Wealth's trading capabilities and values in all client interactions.
  • Monitor trading desk performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership on operational efficiency, error rates, trade volumes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Investment Management on special projects, including system enhancements, process optimization, and initiatives that support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, internal policies, and firm standards; maintain awareness of industry developments and regulatory changes impacting trading operations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced credential preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of trading or investment management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Extensive experience managing trading operations, including trade execution, portfolio transitions, rebalancing, block trading and ensuring best execution.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge and experience with multiple order management systems (OMS) and/or execution management systems (EMS) such as Charles River, CircleBlack, Eze, FBSI, iRebal, Moxy, Tamarac, thinkorswim, and similar platforms; Orion Eclipse and TOM trading experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with major custodial platforms such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity, with strong knowledge of custodial integration and settlement processes.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced trading environments.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) with the ability to educate and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities; ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information.
  • Deep interest in investments, macroeconomics, and financial markets with ongoing commitment to professional development and industry knowledge.
  • Passion for operational excellence, process optimization, and leveraging technology to drive efficiency.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance, with understanding of SEC regulations and financial services regulations.
