Job Purpose

As the Staff Project Manager – Digital Manufacturing, you will lead and orchestrate our cross-functional Digital Manufacturing program as VulcanForms scales its advanced production operations. You will be responsible for driving the strategy, structure, and execution required to establish a robust digital manufacturing infrastructure that enables systematic manufacturing and inspection data collection, integration, storage, traceability, and utilization across our consumer technology manufacturing programs. Operating at the intersection of process technology, software engineering, and shop-floor execution, you will serve as the central execution owner—leading alignment across NPI Engineering, Digital Engineering, Controls Engineering, IT, Operations, and Quality to translate complex technical requirements into qualified, scalable, and sustainable production systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own, establish, and govern the overall Digital Manufacturing program framework, defining scope, strategic objectives, workstreams, milestones, and critical deliverables tailored to high-volume consumer technology specifications.
  • Build and manage integrated, multi-track technical project plans spanning hardware/software interfaces, edge/network data infrastructure, inspection systems, and downstream analytics.
  • Map critical paths, resource allocation, and complex inter-functional dependencies to ensure program deliverables are met according to committed timelines and business milestones.
  • Drive alignment on complex technical requirements and system interfaces between manufacturing equipment, automated inspection systems, enterprise data pipelines, and IT/Quality/Operations software platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across multidisciplinary teams—including Bluesky NPI, Digital Engineering, Controls Engineering, IT, Operations, and Quality—ensuring accountability while technical SMEs maintain domain ownership.
  • Support and shepherd the seamless transition of newly developed digital tools and data architectures into sustainable, daily production use with clear operational ownership, SLAs, and support models.
  • Proactively identify technical risks, architecture gaps, resource constraints, and execution bottlenecks; drive timely mitigation strategies and executive-level escalations.
  • Establish a rigorous program review cadence and deliver clear, data-driven status updates, metrics, and risk assessments to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all technical decisions, architecture specs, interface requirements, action items, and program deliverables are comprehensively documented and maintained.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive program/project management experience within advanced manufacturing, digital manufacturing, or consumer electronics/technology engineering environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing data systems, SCADA/MES integration, shop-floor data collection, automated inspection data pipelines, and digital thread concepts.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-million-dollar cross-functional engineering programs in fast-paced NPI-to-production scaling environments.
  • Expertise in modern project management methodologies (stage-gate, Agile/Scrum) and advanced toolsets (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet).
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • Direct experience supporting high-precision consumer technology, hardware NPI, or automated non-destructive inspection deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial IoT (IIoT), edge computing architectures, quality data systems, or enterprise data architecture in scaled manufacturing environments.
