Job Purpose

As the Senior Factory Efficiency Engineer, you will be a data-driven architect of operational excellence, optimizing the high-precision workflows and "lights-out" manufacturing strategies that power VulcanForms’ production scale. You will act as the bridge between the factory floor and our automation engineering squads, utilizing industrial engineering principles and advanced manufacturing data to systematically eliminate waste, simplify complex processes, and maximize 24/7 factory scalability.

In this role, you will own the tracking, analysis, and optimization of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across our bleeding-edge manufacturing cells. Your goal is to identify operational constraints, high-cost labor areas, and low-throughput processes, translating your findings into engineered solutions and standardized guidelines that ensure maximum factory uptime and cost efficiency.Describe the role and team the candidate will be joining

Key Responsibilities
  • OEE & Capacity Constraint Identification: Lead the data collection, analysis, and tracking of improvements to OEE and reduction of constraints within the system.
  • Factory Simulation Model & Value Stream Mapping: Maintain the detailed factory simulation model, including full value stream map, identifying upcoming changes and potential impacts to ensure contingencies are in place to protect operational goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Create alignment to company strategy, ensuring a factory will be ready for new product when needed and that capacity constraints are known and addressed proactively.
  • Standardization & Alignment: Develop comprehensive factory efficiency & integration guidelines and validate them across factories.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Quality, and Automation Projects Engineering teams to ensure that new automation cells and 3rd-party machinery integrate seamlessly into real-world factory workflows without disrupting existing throughput.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) within a high-stakes, high-precision production environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Expert-level knowledge of automation, discrete event simulation, python scripting, material flow planning, 2D and 3D factory CAD systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency models specifically tailored for highly automated or "lights-out" manufacturing initiatives.
  • Hands-on familiarity with metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) environments and the unique capacity, powder-handling, and post-processing bottlenecks associated with them.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
