Member of Technical Staff – Senior Engineer, Data & Training Infrastructure

Position Summary:

You'll build and scale the infrastructure where data meets training—the systems that feed data efficiently into large-scale training and keep those runs fast, stable, and reproducible. As a senior IC you lead this workstream together with our world-class data team and are a force multiplier for the research teams that depend on it.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Data Path: Design and scale the data-loading, sharing, and caching that feeds large training runs.
  • Training Reliability: Design and implement training-infra efficiency and reliability—throughput, utilization, checkpointing, fault tolerance.
  • Bottleneck Removal: Find and remove bottlenecks between the data platform and training.
  • Observability: Build tooling that makes training performance and failures easy to understand.
  • Technical Leadership: Set standards and mentor MTS engineers across data and training infra.

Required Qualifications:

  • Systems / ML Infra: Strong background with experience supporting large-scale training.
  • Distributed Training: Deep understanding of distributed-training performance and the data path that feeds it.
  • Technical Judgment: The ability to lead a work stream and make high-leverage infrastructure decisions.
  • Performance: A rigorous, measurement-driven approach to performance work.
  • Leadership: Experience mentoring engineers and setting technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large multimodal or video training pipelines.
  • Familiarity with accelerator utilization, high-performance I/O, or distributed storage.
  • Contributions to training-infrastructure or performance tooling.
