About The Role & Team

Webull Securities (US) LLC is seeking a Director of Clearing Risk to own the firm’s day-to-day capital, liquidity, and clearing risk framework. This role is responsible for ensuring that WSUS, as a clearing broker, maintains sufficient capital and liquidity to support current and projected clearing activity under both normal and stressed market conditions.

The Director of Clearing Risk will work closely with the CEO of WSUS, U.S. Chief Risk Officer, CFO, Clearing Operations, Compliance, Treasury, and other senior stakeholders to establish risk limits, monitor exposures, escalate emerging issues, and strengthen management reporting across the clearing risk function. This is a hands-on build role, requiring someone willing to help establish the clearing risk function from the ground up in a growing, self-clearing broker-dealer environment.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own the capital, liquidity, and clearing risk framework for Webull Securities (US) LLC, including daily monitoring of net capital, excess net capital, liquidity, and clearinghouse requirements.
  • Develop and maintain early warning indicators, risk limits, escalation thresholds, governance routines, and management reporting for capital, liquidity, market, and clearing risk exposures.
  • Lead VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital forecasting to assess risk under normal and stressed market conditions and support projected clearing growth.
  • Monitor NSCC, DTC, OCC, settlement-related liquidity exposure, margin, deposit, and funding requirements across the clearing broker business.
  • Assess client, correspondent, counterparty, and concentration risk, and work with senior stakeholders to identify, escalate, and remediate emerging issues.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, risk management, accounting or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in risk management, capital, liquidity, market risk, clearing risk, broker-dealer risk, or a related control function.
  • Meaningful experience working at a U.S. clearing broker or self-clearing broker-dealer.
  • Strong understanding of SEC and FINRA net capital requirements, clearinghouse margin/deposit requirements, liquidity risk, and broker-dealer market risk.
  • Experience building or managing clearing risk dashboards, Early Warning Indicators, VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital frameworks.
  • Ability to independently challenge the business and escalate risk issues to executive management.
  • Strong analytical judgment, communication skills, and executive presence.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience interacting with NSCC, DTC, OCC, FINRA, SEC, or other relevant regulatory and market infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Prior responsibility for clearing house liquidity, daily margin/deposit forecasting, capital adequacy assessment, or broker-dealer stress testing.
  • Experience supporting senior risk governance forums, board or committee reporting, regulatory examinations, internal audit reviews, or remediation programs.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience using SQL, Python, or comparable data-analysis tools to analyze large datasets, automate risk monitoring, and support capital, liquidity, VaR, and stress-testing models.
