PopStroke is seeking an Associate Real Estate Counsel to join our growing team.

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Jupiter, FL (Fully On-Site)

Experience Level: Associate

License: FL Bar Admission Required

 

This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney with 2 – 4 years of real estate law experience looking to enhance their career in a dynamic, rapidly-growing company within the hospitality and entertainment industry.

This position is primarily responsible for providing legal counsel and direction on a wide variety of real estate, leasing and corporate matters associated with both new and existing PopStroke locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing all aspects of real estate transactions from letters of intent, ground lease, purchase agreement and construction agreement negotiations through store opening and post-opening operations, working closely with internal employees and outside parties and providing related legal counsel to PopStroke and its affiliated entities. This position is based in our corporate office in Jupiter, Florida.


Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 (Commensurate with experience)



What you'll do

  • Provide direction and expert knowledge to advise, and independently lead, influence and support company counsel, CEO and company departments.
  • Analyze and conduct all legal due diligence for properties to be purchased or leased (e.g. review of title, leases, surveys, environmental reports, entitlements, encumbrances of record, etc.)
  • Review, negotiate and provide in-depth input for drafting letters of intent, purchase contracts, ground leases, work letters, amendments, closing documents, correspondence with third parties, etc.
  • Collaborate with other parties on matters that are impacted by other areas of law such as Regulatory, Litigation, Employment, etc.
  • Assist in providing day-to-day direction, and legal advice to the business on issues impacting the company’s real estate and operating assets.
  • Advise on legal matters impacting acquisition, development, construction and operation of restaurant and mini-golf properties and relating to the company’s real estate assets.
  • Independently manage projects and initiatives with the Development, Construction and Facilities teams that impact the company’s restaurant and store development and operations.
  • Lead efforts to prepare and update forms and processes as needed and prepare other communications to support the business.
  • Support growth and real estate portfolio by continuing to help develop and advise on various policies, processes and systems.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of legal experience after passing the Bar Exam
  • Strong communication, organizational, drafting, writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to identify and set priorities.
  • High level of initiative and desire to work as an in-house lawyer in the corporate office.
  • Ability to serve leadership and supporting roles in cross-functional projects and/or on cross-functional teams.
  • Competence in the use of technological systems and standard MS office applications.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple, simultaneous and shifting demands, priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Florida Bar Membership
  • Large law firm and/or relevant boutique real estate law experience, and/or focused in-house corporate experience preferred.
  • Legal experience in transactional commercial real estate and leasing.
