About the role
The Membership Sales Associate role is pivotal in managing membership inquiries, prospecting and selling memberships, and ensuring a positive experience for our guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting daily walk-in golf sales into memberships, explaining the membership perks and program to guests, training golf associates on proper sales tactics, and contributing to the overall sales targets of the organization.
Reports to: General Manager
Position Status: Non-Exempt, Overtime Eligible
Compensation: $15 per hour + Sales Commission
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to effectively generate new sales opportunities, nurture leads, and contribute significantly to the overall sales targets of the company.
The Membership Sales Associate position will be based in the venue and will require occasional (local) travel for community outreach.
What you'll do
- Drive the company’s mission by always representing our vision in every guest interaction.
- Implement and promote membership sales campaigns, including special offers and discounts to increase membership sign-ups.
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify potential members through various channels such as industry databases, networking events, and referrals.
- Inbound Membership Sales: Efficiently handle membership inquiries. Convert daily walk-in golf sales into memberships, explain membership perks and program to guests
- Proactively engage with guests throughout the venue, provide membership information and help guide prospective members. Address guest questions and concerns promptly, effectively, and courteously.
- Sales Presentations and Pitches: Prepare and deliver compelling pitches that effectively communicate the value proposition of our membership program concept. Adapt your sales approach to suit the specific context and guest.
- Drive membership retention, contact members to secure renewals.
- Market Research and Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes. Use this knowledge to identify new opportunities and refine prospecting strategies.
- Collaboration with All Venue Associates: Work closely with the venue associates to align efforts, share insights, and refine strategies on the overall membership sales plan. Contribute to the development of marketing materials and sales tactics that support outbound efforts.
- Work with the operations team to ensure smooth integration of membership benefits with venue activities and special events.
- Sales Targets: Contribute to meeting or exceeding membership sales targets.
- Assist new members with initial account setup.
- Escalate any payment or billing issues to the operations team.
- Provide exceptional hospitality service to all guests and members.

Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in sales, ideally within the hospitality, entertainment, or events industry.
- Strong hospitality focus on delivering exceptional guest/member experience.
- Ability to meet sales targets and convert in person leads into sales.
- Strong persuasive and negotiation abilities.
- Possess outstanding attention to detail, strong communication skills, and customer-centric attitude.
- Self-motivated with a drive to achieve sales goals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Must be able to stand and walk for a long period of time, operate a computer and phone; may involve lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds occasionally.
