Job Summary
The Corporate Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all corporate tax functions, including corporate income tax compliance, tax planning, and overseeing the management of indirect taxes such as sales and use tax. The role requires close collaboration with external tax advisors, senior management, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, while minimizing the company’s overall tax liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Income Tax:
- Work closely with external tax firms to prepare global corporate tax filings, handle tax audits, and manage compliance matters.
- Provide guidance to external advisors on corporate tax matters and review their work to ensure accuracy.
- Review and ensure accurate reporting of tax positions, including complex issues related to tax credits, deductions, and carryforwards (NOLs).
- Sales and Use Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the sales and use tax compliance process for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to ensure proper documentation and adherence to tax laws.
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies that minimize the company’s overall tax liabilities while complying with applicable laws.
- Assist with the merger of Portside’s subsidiaries into the parent, provide analysis of potential tax consequences, and work with states to file final returns and close accounts.
- Audit and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and support tax audits by coordinating the preparation of documentation and working with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Resolve tax-related disputes or inquiries in collaboration with external tax advisors and legal teams.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvements:
- Create and maintain domestic and international tax and compliance calendars
- Develop, implement, and maintain tax compliance processes and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Identify areas for improvement in tax processes and collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and enhance tax efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred).
- At least 5-7 years of corporate tax experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and in-house experience. Big Four experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working with our external international tax partners
- Netsuite and tax automation software experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Sales & Use tax, statutory compliance
- Experience with transfer pricing and tax audits
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in a large multinational corporation or fast-paced, high-growth company.
- Knowledge of international tax laws and regulations is a plus.

Location: This role requires in-office presence three days per week in our Boise or San Francisco office.
