Summary
We are currently seeking a Microsoft 365 Administrator. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity — strong performers will be considered for a full-time position. This role will focus on providing Tier 1 &2 support, maintaining services, and ensuring secure, compliant operations while also driving AI adoption, governance, and optimization.
You will be the primary point of contact for Microsoft 365 systems and Copilot-related workflows, ensuring technology empowers users while maintaining security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and optimize Microsoft 365 across Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Copilot
- Deploy Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and device lifecycle management, enforcing endpoint security policies and compliance baselines across managed devices
- Provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 support, troubleshooting Microsoft 365 applications, identity/authentication, and connectivity issues
- Manage new user onboarding, including workstation setup, Microsoft 365 configuration, license assignment, and group-based access
- Administer Conditional Access policies, MFA enforcement, and security baselines to protect identities and ensure compliance
- Develop and enforce AI governance policies, ensuring compliant and responsible use
- Monitor Copilot adoption and usage, recommending workflow improvements and efficiency enhancements
- Train employees, create documentation, and provide ongoing guidance on AI-powered tools
- Partner with IT leadership to integrate AI into business processes while maintaining security and compliance
- Implement compliance features such as DLP, retention policies, and audit logging
- Utilize system logs and diagnostic tools for root cause analysis of technical and security incidents
- Create and maintain a knowledge base with FAQs and troubleshooting guides to improve self-service and reduce support requests
- Monitor Microsoft 365 service health dashboards and alerts, ensuring rapid response to outages or service degradations
- Generate usage and license reports to optimize resource allocation and control costs
- Enforce governance policies for data sharing, guest access, and Teams lifecycle management, maintaining a secure and compliant environment
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience administering Microsoft 365 in enterprise or fintech environments
- Strong experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD / Entra ID, Microsoft Intune
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot or AI productivity tools
- Experience with identity and access management, Conditional Access, MFA, and security compliance controls
- Proven experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support
- Experience with tech procurement
- Experience managing tech debt and consolidation
- Knowledge of compliance and governance features (DLP, retention policies, audit logging)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to support both technical and non-technical users
Preferred
- Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications (Modern Desktop Administrator, Security Administrator, etc.)
- M365 Cloud Governance Frameworks, Microsoft Graph API, PowerShell Automation, PnP PowerShell, Azure Automatio
- Level of understanding using Helpdesk/Service Hub in HubSpot
- Experience with Apple Device Manager
- Experience implementing AI governance and adoption frameworks
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
- Previous experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated environments
- Experience developing internal training and end-user enablement programs
Contract-to-hire: initial 3-month contract with the potential to convert to full-time employment.

The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 115,000 USD per year (Bethesda, MD)
