Power TakeOff is a software and implementation company driven by making an environmental impact by helping business customers reduce their energy consumption. Since its founding in 2007, Power TakeOff’s products and services have centered around the use of interval electric data to help the business market better understand and reduce their usage and to use software and analytics as tools to cost-effectively deliver services at utility-scale. While our end-user participants are businesses, much of our work is generated from utility-scale contracts with over 20 utilities across North America.

Position Summary
We are looking to fill the position of an Email Marketing Analyst to help develop/improve our email outreach by creating and managing email campaigns to meet or exceed the company's performance metrics and energy savings goals.
An ideal candidate will show initiative, have an analytical approach to problem-solving, and constantly seek campaign improvement opportunities.
This position also entails writing reports that provide meaningful insights gained by analyzing critical campaign-related data. The successful candidate must be proficient with automated personalized email campaigns and have an in-depth knowledge of best email marketing practices, audience segmentation, and A/B testing.
The Job
- Planning, creating, testing, and launching segmented email outreach campaigns
- Planning: Understanding the scope and constraints of email campaigns and creating detailed execution plans
- Creating: Email campaign templates, with automated input fields related to the personalization of emails
- Testing: E.g. test the automated inputs to the email templates are working ok before launch
- Administering an email marketing platform (e.g. MailChimp/HubSpot/Zapier etc.):
- Assisting in selecting an email marketing platform that meets the needs of the company
- Managing the configuration of the email marketing platform to run and manage email campaigns
- Act as a point of contact with the vendor of the email marketing software to stay informed about changes
- Executing fully automated (trigger) and semi-automated (drip) email campaigns using an email marketing platform, SQL queries, data filters, data extensions, templates, automation, etc.
- Understanding the data pipelines that affect email campaigns to be able to configure, test and execute email campaigns. The data pipeline for segmentation and personalization information could consist of information stored in different systems like the CRM, AWS cloud, spreadsheets, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with the regulations for email campaigns in the US and Canada and keeping up to date with the regulatory changes affecting the email outreach at Power TakeOff
- In addition to regulatory compliance, ensuring email campaigns are set up in accordance with Power TakeOff’s contractual requirements for the DSM programs it administers
- Analyzing and reporting relevant metrics and campaign results to the management to identify improvement opportunities and facilitate decision-making - like deliverability rates, open rates, click rates, conversion rates, etc.
- Assisting with ROI calculations of email campaigns
- Creating reports and presentations on email campaign performance
- Communicating insights and suggestions to other teams and the management
- A/B testing of email content, send timing, and segmentation to land at the most effective email campaign strategies
- Maintaining an active outreach calendar by managing the frequency of contact with customers
- Assisting with HTML coding/scripting when necessary to create adequate email body content
- Following a continuous improvement philosophy of plan→do→check→act
- Other aligned tasks as assigned by the manager
Skills and Competencies
- Email Marketing Platforms: Proficiency in tools like Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, etc.
- HTML & CSS: Expert level knowledge for designing email templates
- Campaign Strategy & Planning: Ability to create and execute targeted email campaigns.
- Segmentation & Personalization: Experience with audience targeting and crafting personalized messages.
- A/B Testing & Optimization: Skilled in testing and analyzing campaign performance for improvements.
- Analytics & Reporting: Strong ability to track, analyze, and report on campaign metrics.
- Copywriting & Content Creation: Possesses excellent writing skills for creating engaging and persuasive email content.
- Design Fundamentals: Basic design skills for creating visually appealing emails.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with email marketing laws like CASL (in Canada) and CAN-SPAM (in the USA)
- Project Management: Ability to handle multiple campaigns and meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 2-5 years in email marketing or a similar digital marketing role.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp etc.)
- Attention to Detail: Precision in content, design, and execution.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and stay updated with industry trends.
- Integrity: Absolute integrity to work within the protocols of the company, especially those related to handling personal information and data security
Nice to have:
- Demand Side Management and/or energy industry experience and knowledge of ‘program design’ in the context of the DSM industry
- Email marketing experience in B-to-B and small business segments
Salary Range
$50,000 - $60,000 USD per year (depending on prior experience).

Location & Travel
Power TakeOff is a 100% virtual company with no physical office location. However, many employees are based in two hubs in the areas around Denver, CO and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Residence in one of these two hubs is desired but not required, and relocation assistance will not be provided for the position.
Regular travel is not required for this position, but occasional travel may be required. Power TakeOff will cover the associated accommodation and travel expenses for any such travel.
