Since its founding in 2007, Power TakeOff’s products and services have centered around the use of interval electric data to help the business market better understand and reduce their usage and to use software and analytics as tools to cost-effectively deliver services at utility-scale. While our end-user participants are businesses, much of our work is generated from utility-scale contracts with over 20 utilities across North America.

Position Summary

Join Power TakeOff's innovative Virtual Commissioning® (VCx®) Program as a Customer Outreach Specialist. Your primary responsibility will be to proactively engage with a wide range of business, institutional, and commercial customers who have identified prospective energy savings opportunities. Through email and phone calls, you will reach out to numerous prospective customers, establishing contact and scheduling virtual meetings between the customer and a Power TakeOff Energy Advisor, who will further assist the customers to implement energy savings opportunities.

Candidates who are in the role may use their gained experience towards relevant certifications, such as the LEED Green Associate and Certified Energy Management designations.
Key Qualifications
  • Higher education degree 
  • Preferred 1+ year of professional experience in a customer service representative (CSR) or similar role with cold outreach responsibilities
  • Motivation to engage with with prospective program participants via cold calls, emails, and meetings
  • Ability to identify and address real or perceived barriers and articulate benefits to customers to encourage participation
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a remote team environment, offering support and willingness to receive and provide feedback to achieve shared goals  
  • Ability to use/learn customer relationship management (CRM) systems (e.g. Salesforce, and other software tools to effectively organize and manage a customer engagement pipeline and support tracking and reporting
  • Consistently positive and professional communications, even under pressure
  • Effective sales skills and motivation to achieve goals
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to learn new information quickly
  • Quality personal references that speak to your work ethic
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organization, record-keeping, and time management skills
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Salary Range

Starting at $40,000 USD per year with an opportunity for an additional bonus for exceptional performance.

Location & Travel
Power TakeOff is a 100% virtual company with no physical office location. However, many employees are based in two hubs in the areas around Denver, CO and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Residence in one of these two hubs is desired but not required, and relocation assistance will not be provided for the position.

Regular travel is not required for this position, but occasional travel may be required. Power TakeOff will cover the associated accommodation and travel expenses for any such travel.

The pay range for this role is:

40,000 - 40,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
