Since its founding in 2007, Power TakeOff’s products and services have centered around the use of interval electric data to help the business market better understand and reduce their usage and to use software and analytics as tools to cost-effectively deliver services at utility-scale. While our end-user participants are businesses, much of our work is generated from utility-scale contracts with over 20 utilities across North America.

Position Summary

The Manager is accountable for overseeing the delivery of Power TakeOff’s portfolio of energy efficiency programs, primarily Virtual Commissioning™ (VCx™). This role encompasses energy savings results, internal people development, team training, hiring, process improvement and team enablement. They are responsible for regularly reporting on the achievements and forecast of energy savings and will work closely with the Director of Utility Programs and Operations to inform, drive, and advocate for comprehensive solutions in areas such as employee performance management, communication, leadership, and career development. 


The Manager of Program Delivery is expected to collaborate across the organization to support, enable, and lead the realization of the Company's vision, mission, and objectives. Based on previous experience handling confidential and sensitive information, this person must exercise discretion, empathy, and integrity while working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. This position will collaborate with our dynamic leadership team to grow and manage the delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

Program Implementation Oversight

  • Responsible for direct management of the Team Leads (TLs) who oversee the work of the team of Energy Advisors. This involves balancing timelines, confirming priorities, checking for reporting accuracy, and contributing to hiring and onboarding. 
  • Driving team performance accountability. Contribute to team resourcing and quarterly goal setting based on business needs and priorities. This involves movement of EAs based on goals and business needs, the advancement of EAs and TLs, and the offboarding of staff not meeting their performance metrics. Coaching of Team Leads in the appropriate use of performance management as well as being the liaison with HR when required.  
  • Oversee goal and success metrics to ensure effective program implementation and work closely with the Team Leads to troubleshoot and address implementation challenges. Tracking, reporting and improving on team’s KPIs. 
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate forecasting of team performance impacting company financial forecasting.  Responsible for communication back to the team on the impact of forecast on overall company health.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for program implementation challenges and working closely with the Director of Utility Programs and Operations on providing guidance and resolutions. This also involves collaboration with the Director of Client Success on working through barriers to implementation with our utility partners. 
  • Consult on the implementation and improvement of tools, templates, and procedures to ensure consistent high-quality work and increase operational efficiencies. 
  • Interface with key internal departments, namely the Director of Client Success, VP of Value Creation, the Director of Analytics to meet program needs. 

People Development and Training

  • Collaborate with the Team Leads team on employee management and development including the training and development of TLs on management best practices. Lead trainings for the team on a variety of topics including management best practices. Developing and executing manager training focused on coaching and conversations to improve performance management processes and upskill people managers.
  • Intimately understanding what skills are needed for the successful delivery of each position as well as assessing who has the key skills needed. 
  • Work towards the continuous improvement of our training and development curriculum including improving ongoing technical and customer focused trainings and onboarding.
  • Is responsible for the implementation and revision of performance management structure and guidance to management (e.g., coaching, career development/advancement, disciplinary actions). 
  • Create a team culture where tenured TLs can mentor newer TLs 
  • Lead effective teams in alignment with larger company culture, values, and strategy.
  • Lead by example, for instance, setting and meeting appropriate deadlines. Prepare agendas and come prepared to team meetings, properly delegating action items. 
  • Support the implementation of improved performance management measures and People enablement programs.
  • Provide regular feedback and opportunities for growth, maximizing the contributions of every team member through effective development and team enablement

Hiring and Resourcing 

  • Support the development and nurturing of the next generation of Energy Advisors leading resource planning with the delivery team.  Facilitating the hiring process which will include coordinating a process for necessary approvals and providing guidance to the hiring team. 
  • Managing Hiring and Recruitment Processes and collaboration with others internally
    • Develop and execute a strategic plan for recruiting entry-level professionals
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to identify potential candidates.
  • Oversee onboarding and training for new programs team members
  • Oversee the running of training and work with the Enablement Team to design and implement a comprehensive training curriculum to equip new employees  with the knowledge and skills needed for success

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing the implementation of commercial energy efficiency programs.
  • Leadership experience growing, managing, and motivating a team in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and meeting facilitation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to track and manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines with accuracy and within budget.
  • Positive, action-oriented attitude showing initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to collaborate well at all levels within an organization, and as a team-player.
  • Proficient skills with Salesforce and other CRM tools.


Location+ Travel

  • This is a remote position and a fully remote company. 
  • Power TakeOff does have ties to Denver, Colorado, and Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, with a number of employees based in those markets. 
  • Travel not required, but Power TakeOff does have events on occasion and pays for travel and accommodations for them.

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
