Project Manager (Architecture)

Peter Pennoyer Architects is an award-winning practice in traditional architecture, recognized as a leader in classicism and historic preservation.  We are seeking a Project Manager to join our office in Palm Beach. Our work ranges from houses and apartments to institutional and commercial work, including mid-rise residential apartment buildings.  Our portfolio of projects has consistently expanded and includes books on American architecture as well as museum exhibition design. Solid experience working in Revit is a plus for this role. A successful applicant will demonstrate a willingness to engage in a collaborative and creative environment and will show evidence that they can consistently produce work of very high quality. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates and manages all phases of project from Pre-Design to Construction Administration
  • Ensure successful results for the firm and our clients through project management techniques
  • Leads and manages internal project team, coordinating all PPA and/or consultant meeting goals, objectives and schedules
  • Manages output and communications for a broad and diverse project team including designers, project captains, and support staff
  • Interface and manage relationships with project consultants, owner representatives, public officials and review officials
  • Acts as daily point person and client-facing manager of the project team
  • Coordinates and communicates regularly with contractor, sub-contractors and consultants
  • Establishes project schedule, deadlines and deliverables
  • Oversees external billing - consultant proposals and invoices
  • Establishes and monitor budgets to ensure project profitability
  • Analyzes cost estimates, reports, surveys, and schedules
  • Reviews contractor payment application
  • Reviews/updates project plans
  • Review team timesheets to ensure that they are in line with planned hours
  • Reviews/red lines work drawings and specifications in Revit or AutoCAD
  • Works on technical drawings and models through all phases
  • Performs field visits and prepares reports, drawings, and field updates
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of building codes and building technology
  • Reports to designated supervising principal
  • Supervises and trains other staff regarding design related document standards

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor or Master of Architecture
  •  Registered Architect in Florida
  •  6 - 8 years’ experience
  •  Experience in private residential construction in Southeast Florida
  •  Ability to deliver effective presentations
  •  Strongly proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
  •  Sketching and freehand drawings skills and ability to create quick sketches    
  •  Strong communication skills, team oriented, self-driven work ethic and ability to meet fast paced project demands
