Peter Pennoyer Architects, D.P.C. is a 50-person firm of architects, conservators, interior designers, and related professionals based in Manhattan and with a South Florida office in Miami. Founded in 1990, PPA is recognized as a leader in new construction, renovation, and historic preservation for residential, commercial, and institutional commissions across the United States and abroad.
The Senior Designer role at PPA requires extensive knowledge of a range of classical architectural styles. This role is responsible for shaping and advancing the design vision throughout the project. The Senior Designer must be capable of leading the design process, incorporating input from project stakeholders, while directing the development of the design with the project team.
Requirements:
- Take responsibility for architectural design work at varying scales to assist renovation and new construction projects
- Analyze existing conditions, conduct zoning & building code research
- Review and develop building program with input from the supervising Principal and Client
- Research and organize applicable precedent to inform the design direction
- Prepare design concepts and generate compelling presentation materials
- Direct the production team, provide any required design input, and support the production efforts
- Work alongside the supervising Principal and the Project Manager to advance the design concepts
- Collaborate with consultants and other professionals outside the firm
- Participate in new technology including 3D printing, BIM workflow, and VR visualization
- Engage with clients and assist the team's efforts through completion of intensive and high-quality projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in architecture
- At least 5 years' experience in architecture
- Thorough understanding of classical architectural design principles
- Understanding of construction techniques, assemblies, and sequences
- Must be able to commute to the NYC office 5 days per week
The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 95,000 USD per year (New York Office)
