About the role

  • We are seeking a talented and experienced Business Analyst with a focus on healthcare IT to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of healthcare systems and technology. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions, ensuring that our healthcare IT projects align with organizational goals and deliver value to our stakeholders. 

What you'll do

  • Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for healthcare IT projects.
    • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Solution Design and Evaluation:

    • Work closely with IT teams to design and evaluate solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
    • Provide input and recommendations for the selection and implementation of healthcare IT systems and applications.
  • Project Management Support:

    • Assist in project planning and management activities, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • User Acceptance Testing:

    • Develop test plans and scenarios for user acceptance testing (UAT) of healthcare IT systems and applications.
    • Coordinate UAT activities with stakeholders and facilitate the resolution of issues identified during testing.
  • Training and Documentation:

    • Collaborate with training teams to develop training materials and documentation for healthcare IT systems and applications.
    • Conduct training sessions for end users to ensure they are proficient in using new systems and applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business, or related field. (Experience may be used in lieu of Degree)
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the healthcare IT domain.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in requirement-gathering techniques, process modeling, and documentation.
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management Systems (PMS), and Health Information Exchanges (HIE).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

    Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or relevant healthcare IT certifications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT interoperability standards and protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools used in healthcare settings.
