About the role

The Python Developer will have a specialized focus in Data Engineering to perform data model design, data formatting, and ETL development optimized for efficient storage, access, and computation in support of national security objectives. You’ll be part of agile teams responsible for increasing innovation capacity and driving the velocity of development of data ingestion and data analysis.  

What you'll do

  • Synchronize efforts with other tasks in assembling data technologies to control the flow of data from source to value, to speed up the process of deriving value and insight.  
  • Develop, automate, and enhance all parts of the data pipeline including ingestion, processing, storage, and exposing data for consumption.  
  • Focus on improving inefficient tooling and adopting new transformative technologies while maintaining operational continuity.  

Qualifications

  • Must have active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, or years of experience in place of a degree
  • 6+ years of overall related professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with hands-on development using Python, Java, and JavaScript to ETL data.
  • Used ETL formats such as XML, JSON, and YML with normalized data and high-volume data ingestion.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using and ingesting data into SQL and NoSQL database system
Highly Desired Skills
  • Familiar with building containerized services 
  • Well-versed in Databricks platform 
  • Practice with PySpark 
  • Developed and maintained data processing flows 
  • Has used Amazon Web Services (AWS)  
  • Worked with Linux OS  
  • Knowledgeable with CI/CD pipeline
