About the role

Our partner is seeking a Senior Director of Sales to lead commercial expansion across a multi-state territory, driving distribution, velocity, and brand presence in the nation’s most influential spirits markets. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales leader who thrives in the field, understands distributor dynamics, and has a proven record of building premium spirits brands from the ground up.


The Senior Director will own regional sales strategy and execution, manage distributor relationships, guide field activation, and collaborate closely with senior leadership on programming and forecasting. While this is a senior leadership role, it is also highly hands-on — perfect for someone who enjoys leading from the front and building structure, relationships, and momentum in a rapidly growing environment.

Key Competencies & Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Develop, refine, and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for assigned region(s).
  • Partner closely with regional distributor teams to secure alignment, focus, and optimized routing.
  • Identify market gaps, trends, and competitive opportunities to inform territory-level decision-making.

Field Execution & Account Development

  • Maintain a consistent in-market presence to strengthen buyer relationships and reinforce programming.
  • Grow points of distribution, increase velocity, and elevate brand visibility across on-premise and off-premise channels.
  • Conduct account visits, market tours, and work-withs to assess performance and prioritize growth opportunities.

Distributor Management

  • Lead ongoing communication and collaboration with distributor leadership, sales reps, and chain teams.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, order management, and pipeline visibility to meet monthly and quarterly goals.
  • Support local distributor programming and sales meetings to build excitement and advocacy for the  portfolio.

Brand Advocacy & Activation Support

  • Serve as a visible ambassador — sharing the brand’s heritage, craftsmanship, and cultural story.
  • Partner with marketing to support samplings, tastings, influencer events, and local activations across the region.
  • Uphold premium brand standards in all field-facing and consumer-facing interactions.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and coaching of field representatives and ambassadors in the region.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, positivity, and high performance across the sales function.
  • Provide strategic territory insights to senior leadership to guide national planning.

Program Development & Budget Stewardship

  • Manage market-level budgets including POS, event activations, incentives, and programming.
  • Execute trade marketing programs aligned with the national strategy and regional needs.
  • Ensure all activations and programming deliver measurable ROI and adhere to brand guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • 5–10 years of spirits industry sales experience, with a strong preference for premium tequila or luxury spirits.
  • Demonstrated success managing distributor relationships, particularly within the .
  • Hands-on experience selling into both on- and off-premise accounts, with strong existing relationships in the region.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools; strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to either Baltimore, Atlanta, or New York City, with reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to lift and move cases of product as needed.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel throughout the territory.
  • Quarterly travel to Baltimore HQ for meetings and business reviews

Salary

Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 per year (based on experience, plus performance bonus)
