About the Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as the Integrator within the EOS framework. Serving as second-in-command, the VP of Strategy translates the Executive Director’s visionary leadership into concrete plans and ensures flawless execution across all departments.
This role will drive organizational alignment, build systems for growth, and empower leaders to succeed. The VP of Strategy balances people, process, and performance—bringing accountability, focus, and clarity to a fast-paced and mission-driven organization.
This is a full-time, senior leadership position requiring strategic insight, operational excellence, and a deep passion for ending abortion.
Location: Remote but must reside in (or be willing to relocate to) Michigan, with the capacity to travel regularly for work.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Alignment
- Serve as the Integrator in the EOS system, ensuring organizational alignment with PLM’s vision, mission, and core values.
- Translate the Executive Director’s vision into clear priorities, strategies, and execution plans.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across departments, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and results.
- Lead, mentor, and coach directors and managers, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Strategy & Execution
- Own the annual and quarterly strategic planning process, including Rocks, Scorecards, and priorities.
- Ensure measurable progress on all organizational goals and initiatives.
- Drive cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment and remove silos.
- Build and optimize systems, processes, and policies for long-term scalability.
People & Culture
- Support recruitment, training, and development of top talent.
- Uphold and reinforce organizational culture, values, and expectations.
- Provide leadership development for managers to increase capacity across the organization.
- Ensure staff have the tools, resources, and clarity needed to thrive.
Finance & Operations
- Partner with the Executive Director and Development team to ensure financial health and sustainability.
- Oversee budgeting, financial accountability, and stewardship of resources.
- Anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and proactively address organizational challenges.
Qualifications
- Deep commitment to the pro-life movement and the mission of Protect Life Michigan.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a COO, integrator, or senior strategy/operations role.
- Strong ability to align teams and hold people accountable to results.
- Excellent project management skills and comfort with EOS, Agile, or other operational systems.
- Skilled in strategic thinking, process development, and organizational scaling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and challenge others.
- Financial and operational management experience required.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel, including nights and weekends as necessary.
- Experience in nonprofit management, advocacy, or political organizing preferred.

While PLM provides training, coaching, and guidance, every employee actively assembles a team of committed partners who help cover the expenses associated with their role.
