About the role

Protect Life Michigan's Director of Marketing must be hardworking, innovative, and vision-driven. The Director of Marketing oversees our Social Media Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and Copywriter. The individual will assist the Executive Director in promoting the mission of Protect Life Michigan via all external communications including but not limited to the website, events, social media, and other forms of public communication. The Director of Marketing will oversee the creation and approval of all external communication (verbal and graphic), and build Protect Life Michigan's brand and presence through excellence in writing and graphic design.


What you'll do

  • Work with the Marketing Department and organization at large to ensure consistent branding of Protect Life Michigan social media posts, videos, brochures, flyers, letters, emails, website, booklets, the Annual Report, and event marketing in language and appearance

  • Work with staff in other departments to create or approve marketing materials for various events and activities, including: 

    • Website and registration pages

    • Emails

    • Flyers and postcards

    • Invitations

    • Press releases

    • Store products

    • Social media posts, videos, and advertisements

  • Oversee the individuals in the organization’s Marketing Department, including the Social Media Coordinator, Copywriter, Graphic Designer, and any volunteers or interns

  • Periodically attend or assign staff to attend events and outreaches to capture photos and video footage for use in promoting the mission of Protect Life Michigan

  • Set and regularly evaluate a strategy to grow social media accounts that focuses on providing relevant and helpful content 

  • Oversee the creation of the organization’s annual Impact Report 

  • Oversee the editing and improving of the Protect Life Michigan website

  • Oversee digital advertising and lead-generation campaigns

  • Assist in other projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Commitment to the pro-life movement and the mission of Protect Life Michigan. 

  • Ability to commit to the position for at least one year. 

  • A positive view of support-raising and/or fundraising 

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and in person

  • A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to organize effectively. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Canva, Mailchimp, popular social media platforms, graphic design, and Adobe Publisher (preferred)

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and productively. 


Salary/Benefits
Salary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include: 
  • After completing 1 year of work, eligibility for employer-matched Simple IRA.

  • Protect Michigan is a support-raising organization. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support. We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.
