About the role

The Internship Administrative Coordinator carries out the mission of Protect Life Michigan (PLM) by completing essential projects for the planning and execution of the Summer Internship Program. An Internship Administrative Coordinator takes ownership of assigned tasks completing them independently or in collaboration with a team of developers. The Internship Administrative Coordinator will report to the Internship Program Manager.


This position can be filled by a part-time or full-time applicant.


What you'll do

Act as Primary Developer in the Internship Planning Process

  • Take ownership of the execution of assigned tasks and projects related to the planning and execution of the Summer Internship Program
  • Use Agile Project Management methodology to complete projects
  • Break projects down into smaller tasks and deadlines
  • Attend all developer team meetings such as planning meetings and sprint huddles
  • Collaborate with other developers
  • Routinely give and implement feedback to ensure quality and cohesiveness 

Internship Command Center

  • Regularly update and report internship outreach statistics
  • Communicate with and coordinate internal and external speakers 
  • Track internship spending
  • Choose outreach locations on an as needed basis
  • Coordinate with HR Specialist to track intern hours and quickly resolve any issues
  • Monitor how weather will impact intern outreaches and create alternative plans when needed
  • Communicate any internship schedule changes with all internship staff

Report to Internship Program Manager

  • Participate in weekly 1:1s
  • Receive regular professional development


Qualifications

  • Commitment to the pro-life movement and the mission of PLM.
  • Passionate and positive view of support-raising and/or fundraising, experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively and thoroughly communicate in person, and in writing.
  • A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to organize effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
  • Flexible work schedule, and the ability to work nights/weekends as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and productively.
  • Experience in conversational pro-life outreach.
  • Deep understanding of pro-life apologetics and PLM.
  • Competence in and ability to provide radically candid feedback on a regular basis.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and to care personally.


Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include: 

  • After completing 1 year of work, eligibility for employer-matched Simple IRA.

  • Protect Michigan is a support-raising organization. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support. We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.
