[About the role]

We are seeking a passionate and technically adept Product Owner to lead the product vision, strategy, and execution for ProtoPie's core technology components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, potentially including software development experience, and excel at bridging the gap between high-level product goals and detailed technical implementation. You will drive the vision, roadmap, and development of features for these technical products, focusing on enabling advanced prototyping workflows, seamless cross-platform experiences, and ultimately accelerating business growth and user success.


ProtoPie aims to build products that bridge the gap between designers, engineers, and hardware. This role offers unique opportunities to work on foundational technologies enabling advanced prototyping and cross-platform solutions that will have impact for designers and product professionals around the globe.



[Responsibilities]

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for ProtoPie’s advanced prototyping use cases aligning with the overall strategy and steering product and engineering teams in execution.
  • Translate user needs and business opportunities into detailed, actionable product requirements, specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for product & engineering teams.
  • Launch new products and features, evaluate their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog balancing new features, technical debt, architectural improvements, and bug fixes, ensuring alignment with technical feasibility and strategic goals.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering regarding technical trade-offs, API/SDK design, implementation details, and testing strategies, as well as other functions such as UX, sales, marketing etc. to drive innovative solutions to hard problems.
  • Serve as the primary technical product expert for internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Support) regarding the capabilities and limitations of ProtoPie.



[Qualifications]

Must

  • 5+ years of product management experience in a technical field (PO, PM, Founder role) or looking to transition to product management from engineering/development background.
  • Excellent communications skills in Korean & English (verbal and in writing), capable of discussing complex technical details with engineers and translating them for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, system architecture, and software engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to translate high-level product vision into detailed technical specifications and effectively manage a technical product backlog.
  • Deep understanding of UX design & prototyping domain, and proven track record of driving product vision and go-to-market strategies in a technically complex B2B Enterprise SaaS context.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to deep dive into technical logs, performance data, and user behavior using relevant tools (SQL, analytics platforms, etc.).
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders (especially Engineering leads) without direct authority.
  • Willingness to engage directly with technically-minded customers to understand intricate needs and provide insights to Product/Sales/Engineering. Free to travel abroad for meetings and workshops (No restrictions on travel).

Plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, or in a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Familiarity with technologies relevant to ProtoPie's technical stack, such as graphics rendering APIs, real-time communication protocols (e.g., WebSockets, Socket.io, MQTT), JavaScript frameworks, cross-platform development tools.
  • First hand experience working in design and prototyping tools, or similar domain.
  • Strong understanding and curiosity to learn more about the technologies as it relates to design/prototyping authoring as well as Enterprise SaaS.

[Working Arrangements]

  • Flexible working hours (Generally from 10 AM to 7 PM KST in HQ).
  • Full-time position (during the first 3 months—the probation period, the employee will receive 100% of their salary).
  • HQ: Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea (Office relocation to Sinnonhyeon area planned for June 2025)
