Senior Systems Engineer

We provide technical, cybersecurity, logistics, and program management support to US Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of State (DoS) agencies and select foreign governments and militaries.

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the SATCOM Division in delivering mission-critical capabilities for the Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT) program. This role involves supporting high-visibility efforts across complex system-of-systems environments, including architecture development, requirements engineering, integration, and test activities. The ideal candidate will operate independently, take ownership of key engineering tasks, and contribute to the successful delivery of advanced communications capabilities in support of DoD mission objectives. This individual will work on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the program and perform all functional duties independently, while potentially overseeing the efforts of less senior staff or being responsible for the work of all personnel assigned to a specific task.


Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Perform systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, including architecture design, requirements development, integration, testing, and certification
  • Develop and allocate technical requirements across system components and system-of-systems environments
    Support system integration, verification, and validation to ensure operational readiness and mission effectiveness
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to assess system performance, identify risks, and inform decision-making
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, test plans, procedures, and verification reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and program leadership to achieve mission objectives
    Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and ensure quality and consistency of engineering deliverables


Required Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems/IT, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong systems engineering, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to synthesize data from disparate sources into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in mission-driven environments
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts
  • Prior experience supporting DoD or SATCOM programs is highly desirable


Clearance Requirements 

Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information.  Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL).  In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment. The listed pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this position for the location for which it has been posted and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Other compensation considerations may include, but are not limited to, job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or other applicable factors.

The pay range for this role is: $105,000-130,000 USD per year (San Diego)
