Alchelyst is a client solutions and infrastructure partner for private markets asset managers. Purpose-built for the expanding demands and sophistication of global private markets, the firm offers a comprehensive managed service offering that can support GPs, private wealth funds and investors. Alchelyst has offices in the US, Ireland, UK, Luxembourg and India. We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our NYC team to provide dedicated quality assurance coverage for applications being delivered and to support Alchelyst broader technology portfolio.

The primary focus will be our proprietary case management software, with shared coverage for other application enhancements and release activity. The role requires a balance of structured manual testing, integration and data validation, automation, and close collaboration with Product, Engineering, business stakeholders, and external platform teams. The successful candidate will help move testing earlier in the delivery lifecycle, strengthen regression coverage, and provide clear input into UAT and release readiness decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, maintain, and execute test cases based on user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data dictionaries, and integration specifications
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, end-to-end, and UAT-readiness testing across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Validate case-management journeys across different user roles, business scenarios, routing paths, and exception conditions
• Test role-based access, permissions, entitlements, field visibility, data security, auditability, and operational controls
• Perform API and service-layer testing using tools such as Postman and automated API frameworks
• Use SQL and available reporting/data tools to verify back-end processing, data transformations, and cross-system consistency
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects in Jira, and work closely with developers to validate fixes and prevent regression
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, defect triage, and release-readiness reviews
• Collaborate with Product and business stakeholders to identify requirement gaps, testability concerns, and operational risks early
• Build and maintain automated regression coverage using Playwright and supporting TypeScript and/or Python-based frameworks
• Integrate high-value automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and provide clear, repeatable test results
• Support test-data preparation, environment validation, smoke testing, and coordinated testing across development, test, UAT, demo, and production-support environments
• Provide concise reporting on test progress, defects, risks, dependencies, and release recommendations
• Cross-train across multiple platforms to provide resilient QA coverage and reduce single points of dependency

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing
• Strong experience in manual testing, structured test-case design, and risk-based coverage
• Hands-on experience testing enterprise web applications, workflow platforms, or case-management solutions
• Experience with API, integration, and end-to-end testing across multiple systems
• Hands-on test automation experience with Playwright, Selenium, pytest, or comparable frameworks
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and/or Python for test automation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments and participating throughout the software-development lifecycle
• Proficiency with Jira or a comparable defect and test-management tool
• Ability to work closely with product, developers, business users, vendors, and distributed teams
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work during US business hours and collaborate with teams across US, UK/EU, and India time zones

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, private markets, investor servicing, or wealth-management platforms
• Experience testing investor onboarding, client servicing, KYC/AML, document, subscription, or portal workflows
• Experience testing Salesforce Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Email-to-Case, case-routing, or queue-management capabilities
• Experience with Snowflake, Jitterbit or comparable middleware, ETL/data pipelines, and data-reconciliation testing
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, pytest-bdd, or Playwright-BDD
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Test Plans, and CI/CD quality gates
• Experience with performance, accessibility, security, or cross-browser testing
• Experience working with distributed global teams and external delivery partners

What Success Looks Like:

Within 90 Days

• Develops a strong understanding of Alchelyst application landscape, delivery model, business workflows, user roles, environments, and integration architecture
• Creates and executes structured test coverage for an assigned primary workstream
• Contributes to defect triage, fix validation, UAT preparation, and release-readiness reporting
• Establishes baseline regression coverage and begins contributing to automated tests

Within 6 Months

• Independently owns QA delivery for one or more workstreams
• Maintains traceable functional, integration, and end-to-end coverage for critical workflows
• Expands automated regression coverage and supports execution through CI/CD pipelines
• Provides dependable backup or shared coverage for testing and release activity
• Reports clearly on progress, quality risks, dependencies, and release confidence

Within 12 Months

• Drives improvements in regression efficiency, test automation, data validation, and release quality
• Helps standardize QA practices, entry/exit criteria, evidence, and reporting across multiple workstreams
• Reduces regression-cycle time and business-UAT rework through earlier and more comprehensive QA validation
• Provides high-confidence input into release readiness and production-support decisions

Ongoing

• Ensures system reliability through proactive testing, defect prevention, and continuous improvement
• Promotes strong collaboration, knowledge sharing, and resilient cross-platform QA coverage

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
