Operations & Strategy Intern

About Ampliwork, Inc

Ampliwork builds Enterprise-Grade AI Agents that amplify Human Potential™ to drive business productivity and growth since 2017. Ampliwork’s AI Agents streamline complex multi-step workflows in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services.

Ampliwork exists to transform how work gets done — for us and for our customers. We design, deploy, and manage production-grade AI agents that take on real work inside complex enterprise environments, freeing people to focus on higher-value thinking, decision-making, relationships, and growth.

We believe the next generation of enterprise performance will be built through Human + AI collaboration: combining the judgement, expertise, creativity, and trust of people with the speed, scale, and precision of AI agents. Our ambition is simple: help every customer unlock 10x value from their people, processes, and technology, and build the trusted AI workforce platform that makes that future possible.

We’re building Ampliwork for teams who want to be at the forefront of this shift — people who are bold enough to reimagine work, curious enough to understand the problems that matter, accountable enough to deliver in production, and caring enough to create meaningful outcomes for customers and colleagues.

About the role

  • As an Operations & Strategy Intern, you will be the right hand to our Business Manager, supporting the day-to-day operations of an international AI startup across three legal entities (Canada, US, UK). You will get hands-on exposure to finance, HR, legal, contracts, and administration — while also contributing fresh thinking on where AI agents can streamline our own internal operations. You will work closely with the Business Manager, the CEO, and cross-functional leads across product, engineering, sales, and pre-sales. This is a high-trust, high-learning role for a curious, organized student who thrives on ownership, variety, and getting things done.

What you'll do

  • AI Agent Ideation for Internal Operations (35%)

Identify repetitive, manual, or low-leverage processes across our internal operations.

Brainstorm and document where AI agents could be deployed to streamline our work.

Map current workflows and propose AI-augmented versions, including high-level specs and use cases.

Partner with product and engineering teams to translate ideas into actionable agent concepts (you will not build the agents you will help define what they should do).

Contribute an "operations lens" to our internal AI agents roadmap.

Operations & Administration (30%)

Support contract and document management across our three legal entities (Canada, US, UK).

Maintain and continuously improve operational trackers, dashboards, and process documentation.

Coordinate with vendors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.

Help prepare materials for leadership, board, and investor meetings.

Support contract administration, vendor onboarding, and resource coordination across projects and entities.

Finance Support (20%)

Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable tracking.

Support cash flow updates and expense categorization in QuickBooks Online.

Help reconcile invoices and maintain financial trackers across entities.

Contribute to monthly reporting, audit-readiness, and ad-hoc financial analyses.

HR Support (15%)

Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

Maintain employee records and HRIS data in Rippling.

Assist with contract drafting, benefits administration, and compliance tracking.

Help coordinate recruitment logistics and candidate communications.

What we're looking for

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.

Exceptional organizational skills and a strong sense of ownership you keep multiple workstreams on track without dropping the ball.

Resourceful and self-starting you figure things out, ask the right questions, and find a way to get to "done."

A genuinely curious mindset you seek to understand the real problem behind the brief, not just the task in front of you.

Genuine interest in AI and how it’s reshaping the way companies operate.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace.

High attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

Comfort working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities.

Discreet and trustworthy you will be exposed to confidential information.

Positive attitude, low ego, and a genuine desire to grow with a disruptive AI

Even better if you have

Prior internship or work experience in operations, finance, HR, or administration.

Familiarity with Asana, HubSpot, Rippling, QuickBooks Online, or similar SaaS operations tools.

Exposure to AI, machine learning, or enterprise software through coursework, projects, or personal interest.

Experience supporting cross-border teams across Canada, the US, and the UK.

How we work — Our Ampliwork Behaviours

Our behaviours are the day-to-day signals that we’re building the company we want to be. We will hire, develop, and recognize people against them.

Be Bold. We lead from the front, challenge assumptions, and push for better ways of working. As an Operations & Strategy Intern, this means bringing ideas forward, proposing how AI could improve our own operations, and helping us see what’s possible when technology is applied with purpose.

Be Curious. We ask thoughtful questions, listen deeply, and seek to understand the real problems behind the brief. You’ll dig into how our operations actually run, where work is stuck, and how we can improve outcomes — not just complete tasks.

Own It. We take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. We don’t pass blame or wait for someone else to solve a problem. You’ll follow through, communicate clearly, learn from mistakes, and do what’s needed to deliver for the team and the business.

Care. We care about our customers, our work, and each other. Success at Ampliwork is collective: we share knowledge, support our colleagues, and take pride in the quality of what we do.
