About the Role
As a Warehouse Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring materials and equipment are available when teams need them to keep projects moving. You’ll oversee inventory planning, receiving, storage, and distribution while maintaining a safe, organized, and secure facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys managing processes, improving efficiency, and playing a critical role in supporting successful field operations.


General Summary of Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for forecasting inventory needs to ensure product and equipment is readily available. The manager oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods and will ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met. The manager also assumes responsibility for the security of the building.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse inventory and material availability by forecasting inventory needs and capacity requirements, purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and ensuring materials are available to meet operational needs while achieving quality, delivery, and budget objectives.
  • Perform and oversee physical warehouse operations including receiving and unloading deliveries, inspecting materials, stocking and organizing inventory, picking and staging materials for jobs, loading and moving materials and equipment, and maintaining an orderly and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory controls and records by conducting physical inventory counts, reconciling inventory to system records, processing receivers, dispositions, and adjustments, managing damaged goods and vendor returns, and investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain warehouse safety, security, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance by ensuring proper storage and material-handling practices, assessing and mitigating operational risks, conducting required monthly safety meetings, and complying with applicable federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Partner across the organization to optimize inventory and warehouse operations by coordinating with other divisions to balance inventory levels, collaborating with the Purchasing Analyst to align purchasing activities with warehouse needs, and identifying opportunities to improve inventory utilization, warehouse efficiency, and controls.
  • Support overall warehouse and operational effectiveness by maintaining current professional and technical knowledge through training and industry resources, completing additional projects and responsibilities as assigned, and consistently following Anthony & Sylvan Pools’ policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education

High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Licenses/Certifications

None

 

Years of Experience

5+ years of relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory, sourcing, or a related function

Required Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage employees


Familiarity with sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management


Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data

 

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities


Sound judgment and decision-making skills


Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; often greater than 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery or tools (with or without assistive devices)
  • Ability to wear required PPE (e.g., hard hats, safety boots, gloves)
  • Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment
  • Ability to communicate promptly and clearly via phone and computer
