nestled in New Orleans’ Marigny neighborhood. Hotel Peter and Paul consists of an existing church, rectory,

convent, and school buildings steeped in more than a century of local, preservationist heritage.

Our hotel offers classic, elegant experiences that defy formulaic guest expectations by

entwining enduring church and schoolhouse architecture with eclectic interiors and reimagined

About the role

We are seeking a Bellman to be one of the first and last faces guests see at our hotel. In this role, you are

responsible for greeting arrivals, handling luggage with care, orienting guests to their rooms and the

property, and helping with everything from a rideshare pickup to a last-minute recommendation for where

to catch the sunset.

The ideal Bellman is warm, quick on their feet, and genuinely enjoys the rhythm of arrivals and

departures. They read guests well, knowing when someone wants a friendly chat about the boardwalk

and when they just want to get settled, and they carry both bags and the guest experience with equal

care. Knowledgeable about the neighborhood, organized under pressure, and reliably professional, they

set the tone for a guest's stay from the curb to the room and back again.

What you'll do

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, setting a welcoming tone from the very first interaction
• Transport guest luggage, packages, and personal items safely between the entrance, front desk, and guest rooms
• Escort guests to their rooms and provide a brief orientation to room features, amenities, and hotel services
• Tag, log, and secure stored luggage in the bell closet, ensuring accurate tracking and hand-off
• Assist guests with rideshare and taxi arrangements, directions, and transportation questions
• Offer personalized recommendations on Venice Beach dining, activities, and attractions
• Deliver packages, messages, and guest requests promptly and courteously
• Coordinate closely with the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance to keep arrivals and room readiness on track
• Load and unload luggage carts and vehicles safely, using proper lifting techniques
• Maintain a clean, organized entrance, lobby, and bell stand area
• Monitor the entrance and lobby, noticing and reporting safety concerns or unusual activity
• Support event arrivals, group check-ins, and VIP guests with additional attention to detail

Qualifications

• Prior bellman, guest service, or customer-facing hospitality experience preferred
• Strong verbal communication skills and a genuinely friendly, professional presence
• Knowledge of Venice Beach and the surrounding Los Angeles area, or eagerness to learn it quickly
• Ability to lift and carry luggage and packages up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly
• Ability to remain organized and composed during busy arrival and departure periods
• Valid driver's license may be required, depending on role assignment
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Passion for hospitality and creating memorable first and last impression

Work Environment

• Active, on-your-feet role at the entrance, lobby, and throughout the property
• Frequent direct interaction with guests, front desk, and hotel staff
• Regular lifting, pushing, and loading of luggage carts up to 50 lbs
• Some time spent outdoors at the entrance and curb in varying weather conditions

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is expected around business levels, key team
