Avèro Advisors

Junior Consultant

Role Overview:

Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of management consulting? Avèro Advisors (www.averoadvisors.com) is seeking dynamic and eager interns for our in-person Junior Consultant Program. This is a truly cross-functional opportunity. You'll roll up your sleeves across a wide array of tasks, initiatives, and projects that touch multiple areas of the business, from supporting client-facing engagements to contributing to internal operations and business development efforts.

Rather than being siloed into one lane, you'll get exposure to the full breadth of how a consulting firm runs, giving you a well-rounded foundation in management consulting while helping you discover where your passions and strengths truly align.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze & Innovate: Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of government technology and innovation as you explore cutting-edge ERP solutions. Experience the excitement of organizational discovery sessions, where you'll contribute to shaping strategic recommendations, functional system requirements, and more. You'll also gain firsthand exposure to fast-paced, high-impact work behind the scenes — from crafting proposals to supporting the execution of key business processes.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Experience the power of teamwork as you work alongside new and seasoned professionals across the firm. You'll gain invaluable insight into how a consulting business runs — from client-facing delivery to the strategy and operations that keep everything moving.
  • Drive Impact: Support the initiatives that keep a growing consulting firm running strong. Contribute to process improvements and help streamline workflows that strengthen our culture and efficiency.
  • Adapt & Grow: Step into an environment that encourages you to embrace new challenges and responsibilities, fueling your professional growth. At Avero, you'll be part of a culture where every voice is heard, and the best idea always wins! You'll discover and refine skills you may not have realized you possessed, all while contributing meaningfully to the organization's success.

Cross-Functional Program Exposure:

  • Support Process Documentation: Contribute to creating comprehensive "As-Is" and "To-Be" business process model and notation documentation, including detailed workflow diagrams.
  • Aid in Project Planning: Assist in mapping requirements to a phased implementation schedule to ensure optimal software selection, configuration, implementation, and testing.
  • Analyze Business Processes: Conduct a preliminary analysis of existing business processes, operations, and organizational structures to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with Client Agencies: Shadow a Project Manager in giving advice, consultation, and technical assistance during project implementation while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Define Business Requirements: Work closely with client users to help define precise business requirements, resolve issues, and translate requirements into system design documents.
  • Coordinate with Vendors: Support the coordination of system design and implementation requirements with vendors.
  • Assess Business Opportunities: Participate in assessing business opportunities, defining problems, and proposing effective solutions for Business Development.
  • Evaluate Technologies: Assist in evaluating various software and hardware systems, identifying new technologies that enhance operations.

  • Produce Documentation: Help produce documentation, including business requirements and other necessary project documentation.
  • Create Design Documents: Assist in creating design documents for reviewed applications encompassing business requirements.
  • Support Development Team: Work with systems analysts and developers in developing functional specifications, test plans, and scripts.
  • Understand Business Operations: Gain an understanding of business operations, processes, procedures, and methods for analyzing and evaluating them.
