Transforming The Way Construction Owners Use Technology & Data

If you enjoy solving complex supply chain challenges, working with large-scale data center programs, collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams, and leveraging technology and AI to drive operational excellence, this is the role for you. Avicado Construction Technology Services is seeking a Vendor Lead – Equipment & Material Controls to support one of our hyperscale data center clients. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, equipment suppliers, logistics partners, and construction teams to ensure critical equipment and connectivity materials are planned, tracked, and delivered successfully. You will play a critical role in supporting equipment procurement, material controls, demand planning, reporting, data quality initiatives, and vendor performance management across multiple campuses and programs.

What you’ll do… 

  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment and material vendors across multiple programs. 
    • Coordinate equipment and connectivity material procurement activities and reporting. 
    • Monitor vendor performance, material availability, and fulfillment commitments. 
    • Partner with suppliers, procurement teams, and project stakeholders to identify and mitigate supply chain risks. 
    • Support material ordering activities and review equipment and connectivity material gaps. 
    • Coordinate inventory rebalancing activities, including move orders and inventory reclassification efforts. 
  • Equipment & Material Controls  
    • Manage equipment and material control processes to ensure accurate demand planning and inventory visibility. 
    • Maintain alignment between connectivity and equipment demand signals. 
    • Coordinate fulfillment gap response activities across campuses and stakeholders. 
    • Track material variances, delays, and supply chain impacts while communicating risks to leadership. 
    • Support equipment lifecycle tracking from demand planning through deployment.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting
    •  Develop, maintain, and improve business intelligence reporting and dashboards. 
    • Perform data quality (DQ) checks and troubleshoot discrepancies across systems of record. 
    • Monitor dashboard health and reporting automation processes. 
    • Build and maintain automated data workflows and reporting solutions. 
    • Analyze equipment and material metrics to support business decisions and operational planning. 
    • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve reporting, data validation, and operational efficiency.  
  • Program Coordination & Process Improvement 
    • Coordinate cross-functional meetings and follow-up actions with vendors, construction teams, planners, and business stakeholders. 
    • Develop and maintain business requirement documents (BRDs), SOPs, and operational documentation. 
    • Support program governance through status reporting, metrics tracking, and risk management. 
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and vendor performance. 
    • Create and maintain training materials and knowledge resources to support team scalability and consistency. 
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management 
    • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 
    • Manage program documentation, knowledge bases, and team wiki content. 
    • Support document control and technical writing initiatives. 
    • Ensure consistent documentation standards across vendor and material control processes. 
  • Team Leadership & Development 
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to project coordinators, analysts, and junior consultants supporting equipment and material controls initiatives. 
    • Establish priorities, assign work, and ensure timely completion of deliverables across the team. 
    • Review team outputs for quality, accuracy, and consistency before delivery to clients and stakeholders. 
    • Support onboarding, training, and professional development of team members. 
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. 
    • Lead team meetings, facilitate knowledge sharing, and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders. 
    • Escalate resource constraints, risks, and performance concerns while proactively developing mitigation plans. 
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders. 

You should have 

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain operations, material controls, vendor management, program management, or related disciplines.
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams, mentoring staff, or managing cross-functional programs. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders and programs. 
  • Proven ability to influence teams and drive outcomes without direct authority. 
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives and driving organizational change. 

Preferred Qualifications   

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, telecommunications, or mission-critical infrastructure programs. 
  • Experience with Primavera P6, SmartBOM, SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems. 
  • Knowledge of equipment procurement and owner-furnished equipment (OFE) processes. 
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for reporting, documentation, workflow automation, or process improvement. 
  • Familiarity with material forecasting, fulfillment planning, and inventory optimization. 
  • Experience supporting global vendor and supplier programs.
