About Bodwé Group Companies
Bodwé is the Professional Services Group of Mno-Bmadsen, the investment enterprise and a wholly owned instrumentality of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. We are architects, planners, consultants, designers, engineers, scientists, and federal contractors, committed to growing the economy and legacy of the Pokagon Band and supporting its more than 6,000 citizens. We provide value by integrating expertise across the natural and built environment lifecycle—from pre-development and planning to design, procurement, construction, and operations. By integrating expertise across architecture, engineering, construction, and facility management, we deliver holistic, end-to-end solutions that drive efficiency and deliver distinctive outcomes.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Technology & Innovation leads how Bodwé uses technology to improve the way we pursue, plan, manage, and deliver work. This leader identifies, evaluates, implements, and scales technologies that improve quality, efficiency, collaboration, decision-making, and client outcomes across the organization.
This is not primarily an IT leadership role. The position is focused on how technology is used throughout the business and how it can improve the performance of Delivery, Growth, Enterprise, and the people closest to our clients and projects. The role will build an integrated technology and innovation capability that connects AEC production technology, BIM and CAD, artificial intelligence, automation, data, digital workflows, training, and organizational adoption. Cybersecurity, federal compliance, and IT infrastructure are critical requirements and guardrails within this work.
The position reports to the Executive Vice President, Enterprise, and carries an enterprise-wide mandate. It works in close partnership with Delivery leadership, technical leaders, and project teams, so that technology decisions stay connected to how the work is actually done. BIM Managers, CAD Managers, and the IT Operations Lead report to this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following inexhaustive list of duties represents a sample of work routinely performed by this role:
Technology Strategy and Innovation
• Develop and lead Bodwé’s technology and innovation strategy in direct support of the company’s business, growth, and delivery objectives.
• Establish and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with Bodwé’s strategic plan and evolving operating model.
• Identify technologies and workflows that can materially improve quality, productivity, client service, and organizational capacity.
• Track emerging AEC, AI, automation, and digital-delivery technologies and determine where Bodwé should invest, pilot, partner, or wait.
• Develop business cases for technology investments, including expected value, cost, implementation requirements, risks, and measurable outcomes.
• Build a structured process for moving ideas from evaluation to pilot, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
Digital Delivery and AEC Technology
• Lead Bodwé’s BIM, CAD, and related digital-delivery capabilities, with BIM Managers and CAD Managers as direct reports.
• Align BIM and CAD standards, tools, workflows, and training across disciplines, markets, and offices.
• Reduce legacy organizational and technical silos by building shared technology capabilities that support multiple disciplines and project types.
• Partner directly with technical leaders and project teams to identify production challenges and develop practical technology solutions.
• Expand the digital-delivery function over time as needs emerge in areas such as GIS, computational design, data analytics, and digital project delivery.
AI, Automation, and Process Improvement
• Lead the responsible adoption of AI and automation across Bodwé, evaluating both commercially available tools and internally developed solutions.
• Identify repeatable work that can be improved through automation, AI, integrated workflows, or better use of existing technology.
• Partner with Delivery, PMO, Growth, Enterprise, and other functions to build technology-enabled workflows that reduce administrative effort and increase professional capacity.
• Establish and maintain governance for AI use, particularly where client, proprietary, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), or other regulated data is involved.
• Measure whether technology implementations actually improve work rather than simply increase the number of tools in use.
Adoption, Training, and Organizational Capability
• Own the organizational change required to convert technology investment into measurable business value.
• Develop implementation and adoption strategies for major technology initiatives.
• Establish training programs that build real proficiency, not just software awareness.
• Create communities of practice and SME networks that let practitioners participate directly in technology improvement.
• Establish feedback mechanisms so technology evolves based on actual project and operational experience.
Technology Governance, Investment, and Vendors
• Lead internal IT operations, with the IT Operations Lead as a direct report, setting priorities for end-user support, infrastructure, and service delivery.
• Own the enterprise technology intake and approval process, including review criteria and investment prioritization.
• Manage the software and platform portfolio: maintain the inventory, consolidate overlapping tools, and own the renewal calendar.
• Develop and manage the technology budget; forecast needs, track spend, and make procurement recommendations that balance capability with cost.
• Evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts and statements of work, and hold technology partners, including the managed services provider, to defined service levels.
• Brief executive leadership regularly on technology investments, performance, risk, and emerging opportunities.
Security and Federal Compliance
• Direct internal IT and work closely with security personnel, the managed services provider, and leadership to ensure new technologies integrate appropriately with Bodwé’s environment.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of CMMC, CUI requirements, NIST SP 800-171, and related federal contracting requirements.
• Build cybersecurity and compliance requirements into technology evaluation, implementation, and vendor decisions, and support CMMC Level 2 sustainment.
• Ensure technology vendors and platforms receive appropriate security and compliance review before adoption.
• Participate in enterprise technology governance, risk management, and vendor strategy.
Education, Experience, and Technical Skills
Required Education, Experience, and Technical Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, computer or information science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in technology, digital delivery, or innovation, including 5+ years leading teams or a function, within an AEC, construction, engineering, consulting, or related professional-services organization.
• Strong knowledge of BIM, CAD, project-delivery technologies, and the broader AEC technology ecosystem.
• Demonstrated experience implementing AI, automation, data, and workflow technologies with measurable results.
• Experience leading technology adoption, training, and organizational change.
• Experience developing business cases, budgets, and implementation roadmaps, and managing technology vendors and contracts.
• Working knowledge of CMMC, CUI, NIST SP 800-171, and federal information-security requirements, or demonstrated ability to lead within them.
• Strong executive communication, strategic planning, and organizational leadership skills.
· Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real ID or Passport in order to undergo commercial airfare travel.
· Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Prior experience building a technology, digital-delivery, or innovation function within another organization.

• Experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot, and the Power Platform, including GCC or GCC High environments.
• Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP systems in a government contracting environment.
• Relevant certifications, such as Autodesk professional certifications, PMP, or CMMC (CCP/CCA).
