Boom Supersonic is building the breakthrough Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower industrial gas turbine — machines designed to push the limits of physics, engineering, and industrial ambition.
The Superpower platform generates tens of megawatts of electrical power. Turning that power into a reliable, fault-tolerant system requires world-class electrical engineering.
That’s where you come in.
Instead of inheriting legacy architectures, you’ll help design how a new high-power platform generates, distributes, and manages tens of megawatts of energy in real-world operation.
You’ll be part of a small, high-performance recruiting team responsible for building one of the most ambitious hardware companies of this century. Every engineer, every manufacturing leader, every critical hire will move through a process you help design and operate. You’ll have founder-level visibility and shape the trajectory of the future of the industry.
You won’t be a cog in a machine. You’ll be a highly visible operator trusted to find and close the best talent in the world.
You will be solely responsible for the end to end design of all low voltage electrical aspects of the Superpower platform including:
Architecture definition, block diagram, single line diagram, concept of operations, long lead item specification and sourcing during the Preliminary Design Phase.
Detailed design and associated analyses to support 2D Logical definition, wire diagram drawing production and release in the Detailed Design Phase.
First article build, checkout, commissioning and troubleshooting in the build and test phase.
Your design purview and accountability encompasses the following subsystems:
Compensation
Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include long-term incentives/equity, a flexible PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
There is no set deadline to apply for this job opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the search is no longer active.
