The Role

Job Title: CMS Web Developer

Length: 6 months - 1 year contract

Location: Remote, US

Pay Range: $92K-110K

Brainrider is seeking a CMS Web Developer to support a large-scale technology client's developer-focused web properties and digital experiences.

This role combines hands-on CMS development, web strategy, UX optimization, and technical problem-solving. You'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving web experiences across developer websites, product launches, events, and digital campaigns.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working across the full lifecycle of a web project — from understanding business needs and evaluating site performance to recommending improvements, implementing updates, coordinating with engineering, and measuring results.

The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. You'll also be expected to leverage AI tools to improve workflows, accelerate production, and maintain a high standard of quality.

What You'll Do

CMS Development & Website Management

  • Build, update, and maintain web pages, landing pages, blogs, and other digital content across internal and external CMS platforms.
  • Implement website updates using CMS tools and front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Work within existing component-based design systems, identifying when new or updated components are needed.
  • Partner with engineering teams on more complex development needs, technical enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Support content publishing, website maintenance, and updates across developer-focused web properties.
  • Ensure all website updates are responsive, accessible, accurate, and aligned with brand and technical requirements.

Web Strategy, UX & Optimization

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities to improve website functionality, user experience, and engagement.
  • Review website analytics and performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Recommend and support UX/UI improvements, including page layouts, navigation, content organization, and calls to action.
  • Develop design concepts and coordinate design and brand reviews before implementation.
  • Partner with engineering to scope and implement new website components or functionality.
  • Monitor performance following launches and updates to evaluate effectiveness and identify further improvements.

Website Launches & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support end-to-end execution of website projects tied to product launches, events, campaigns, and ongoing site improvements.
  • Work closely with product, marketing, design, engineering, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, establish priorities, and deliver updates.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams, including design reviews, technical requirements, approvals, testing, and publishing.
  • Manage competing priorities and respond quickly to time-sensitive requests, including high-visibility launches with compressed timelines.
  • Conduct thorough QA across devices, browsers, and screen sizes to ensure content and functionality are working as expected.
  • Troubleshoot website issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolutions with the appropriate teams.

Forms, Integrations & Analytics

  • Build, maintain, and optimize web forms, including lead generation and registration experiences.
  • Support integrations between website forms, CMS platforms, and systems such as Salesforce.
  • Troubleshoot form functionality, submission issues, and related technical workflows.
  • Implement and validate analytics tracking, tagging, and reporting requirements.
  • Support performance reporting and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Apply SEO best practices, including metadata, content structure, and website optimization.

AI, Automation & Process Improvement

  • Actively leverage AI tools to accelerate website development, content publishing, troubleshooting, and QA.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive CMS tasks, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to support page creation, debugging, technical problem-solving, and workflow efficiency.
  • Explore and recommend improvements to existing tools, systems, and processes that increase speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Balance efficiency with strong quality control, ensuring AI-assisted work is reviewed and validated before launch.

What You'll Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in web development, CMS management, or a hybrid web production/development role.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining websites within enterprise CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with component-based website architectures and reusable design systems.
  • Experience supporting website launches, content publishing, and ongoing site optimization.
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and the ability to translate performance insights into practical website improvements.
  • Experience working with web analytics tools to evaluate site performance and engagement.
  • Strong QA and troubleshooting skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using AI tools to support development, automation, debugging, and productivity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of workstreams, identifying issues proactively, and working independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting developer-focused, technical, or product-led websites.
  • Familiarity component-based front-end frameworks.
  • Experience code reviews, or structured development workflows.
  • Experience with Salesforce, particularly web forms, lead generation, and CRM integrations.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other enterprise CMS platforms.
  • Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools.
  • Experience supporting high-visibility product launches, live events, or time-sensitive website updates.
  • Familiarity with SEO, accessibility standards, and web performance optimization.
  • Experience building AI-assisted workflows or automations for web production.
  • Exposure to PHP, CI/CD, or other development and deployment processes.
