Senior Technical Product Manager

About Comp AI

Most companies still do compliance by hand: manual evidence collection, copy-pasted policies, audit prep that pulls engineers off the roadmap.

Comp AI rebuilds that stack with AI agents that handle the busywork. We are the AI-native compliance and security platform, and one of the fastest-growing companies in the world: 0 to 700 customers in our first year, and still accelerating.

Our AI agents:

  • Collect evidence and map controls
  • Draft and maintain policies
  • Prep for audits
  • Continuously monitor posture against SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and whatever frameworks our customers need next

Compliance is the wedge, not the ceiling. We are building toward continuous, AI-driven cybersecurity: always on, and better the longer a customer uses it.

We move fast and hold a high bar. The team is small enough that each person’s work shows up directly in the product.

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to own a meaningful part of the product end to end: the research, the strategy, the roadmap, and getting it shipped through design and engineering.

You'll figure out what's worth building and why, sequence it, and drive it to customers in days and weeks rather than quarters. You'll make the calls and defend the cuts, work directly with founders, and stay close enough to customers to know whether what you shipped actually worked.

You'll own ambitious problems end to end. Some of the work is taking our core product upmarket: dissecting competitors, mining real customer calls, finding the gap between what we have and what a larger buyer needs, then closing it.

Some of it is greenfield, where there's no playbook yet and your job is to find the right thing to build and prove it. Both reward the same instincts: research a market, decide what to build, and ship it through a team.

This is a technical PM role in a real sense. You won't write production code, but you'll reason about feasibility with engineers who build with AI every day, sniff-test an estimate, and tell the difference between a one-week feature and a one-quarter one.

You won't get steamrolled in scoping, and you won't ship vague specs.

How We Use AI (Central to the Role)

We expect you to be fluent with modern AI. Day to day that means:

  • Using AI across the PM workflow as a primary tool, not an occasional assist: researching markets and competitors, synthesizing customer calls, drafting PRDs and specs, prototyping flows, and modeling tradeoffs.
  • Knowing how to prompt, scope, and steer these tools toward useful output, and how to break work down so they are effective.
  • Reasoning about what AI makes newly possible in the product itself. Our core is agents that collect evidence, draft policies, map controls, and monitor posture. You'll be shaping an AI-native product, not bolting a chatbot onto an old one.
  • Holding the bar. AI accelerates your research and drafting. It does not replace your judgment, your prioritization, or your responsibility for what the team builds.

We want strong product thinkers who use AI to go faster, not people who lean on it to do the thinking. The combination of sharp product judgment and AI fluency is the profile we are hiring for.

What You'll Do

Own and decide

  • Own a product area or vertical end to end: the research, the thesis, the roadmap, and the outcomes.
  • Decide what's worth building and what's not. Prioritize under real constraints, tie every call to a thesis about the customer and the business, and defend the cuts.
  • On greenfield bets, find the angle that makes us the right company to build it, and size the bet honestly, including the case against it.

Work with AI, and keep the judgment yours

  • Use AI to research faster, synthesize customer signal, draft specs, and prototype ideas before committing the team.
  • Reason about where AI changes what the product can do, and push for the version that's genuinely AI-native.
  • Stay responsible for the call. The tools accelerate you; the decision is yours.

Ship fast

  • Turn strategy into a sequence of shippable steps a team can start on now.
  • Ship to customers in days and weeks, then iterate on what they actually do.
  • Hold a high bar on quality and know when something is good enough to ship.

Stay close and partner

  • Talk to customers and prospects. Run real discovery, hear the need behind the ask, and ship against it.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and founders from shaping through launch. Treat them as collaborators whose expertise changes the plan, not a service desk.
  • Reason technically enough to be a credible partner, and adjust the plan in real time when an engineer says it's bigger than you thought.

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

  • 5+ years in product management, with experience shipping products customers paid for and relied on at an AI-native, infrastructure, devtools, security, or B2B SaaS company.
  • Sharp prioritization. You can take a messy quarter of conflicting inputs and make a defensible call, then explain the thesis underneath it.
  • Real customer discovery skill. You run the conversation, ask open questions, and have changed your mind about what to build based on what you heard.
  • Enough technical depth to be a real partner to engineering: you can reason about feasibility, sniff-test an estimate, and engage with tradeoffs without writing the code.
  • Fluency with AI tools as part of your daily workflow, and a clear point of view on where they help and where they don't.
  • The ability to talk specifically about what you built, the tradeoffs you made, and the things that didn't work.

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience taking a product upmarket, or standing one up from zero, where scope was wide and you owned it end to end.
  • Experience building with LLMs and AI agents in a product: where they help, how they fail, and how to design around it.
  • Background in compliance, security, audit tooling, or other regulated domains (fintech, healthcare, public sector).
  • Experience building for technical buyers (security teams, engineering leaders, CTOs).
  • Comfort prototyping your own ideas with tools like v0, Lovable, or Claude.

How We Work

  • You think like an owner. The product is yours and the outcomes are yours.
  • You use AI to move faster and you stay responsible for the call.
  • You'd rather ship something imperfect this week and iterate than polish a plan for a quarter.
  • You hold strong opinions and update them when the evidence changes.

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a backlog manager. You'll own strategy and outcomes, not groom tickets for one corner of the app.
  • Not a spec-over-the-wall role. You'll plan with engineering and design in the room and adjust live.
  • Not a non-technical PM seat. You're expected to reason about feasibility and hold your own with engineers.
  • Not a research or strategy-deck role. We ship to customers in weeks.
  • Not a people-management role. You'll set product direction and work with a strong team, but you won't manage one day to day.

Why Comp AI

  • Real ownership. What you ship affects the company's numbers, not a sub-team's OKRs.
  • Direct access to founders. Decisions happen in conversation.
  • AI-native from day zero, in the product and in how we build it.
  • A modern product and stack kept clean, with no legacy debt to fight.
  • A category in motion. Compliance is becoming continuous cybersecurity, and you'll help build it.

Compensation and Logistics

  • Base + equity: $170K - $250K base, plus meaningful equity.
  • Location: Strongly preferred in-person at our Miami HQ. We'll consider remote for exceptional candidates, and we help with relocation if you want to move.
  • Visa sponsorship: We don't sponsor visas at this time.

Perks

  • Competitive base and meaningful equity.
  • Unlimited PTO on top of US federal holidays. Give ample notice and take what you need.
  • 100% Covered health, dental and vision insurance
  • Quarterly team offsites.
  • A strong team to learn from.
