Dynamo AI

Lead Forward Deployed Engineer (UK)

About Dynamo AI

At Dynamo AI, we help enterprises deploy AI systems that are reliable, secure, observable, scalable and production-ready.

As organizations accelerate adoption of Generative AI, they face growing challenges around reliability, governance, latency, safety, compliance, and operational control. Dynamo AI provides the infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, and real-time guardrails that allow enterprises to confidently operationalize AI at scale.

We work closely with enterprises and regulated industries to bridge the gap between AI experimentation and production deployment — enabling organizations to deploy AI systems safely, efficiently, and responsibly.

Forward Deployed Engineers at Dynamo AI work directly with enterprise customers to deploy Dynamo’s flagship products (DynamoEval, DynamoGuard, AgentWarden) into real-world client environments. Sitting at the intersection of engineering, customer deployment, and AI reliability, this role involves integrating AI guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and agentic observability capabilities into complex enterprise ecosystems — particularly within regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, and government. Success in this role requires strong technical depth, curiosity, patience, and the ability to navigate complex operational and governance requirements while helping customers accelerate the path from experimentation to reliable production deployment.

About the Role

We are looking for Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with enterprise customers to help deploy, integrate, and operationalize AI systems in real-world production environments.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer deployment, and AI reliability. You will work closely with customer engineering teams to integrate Dynamo AI’s platform into complex enterprise ecosystems while helping organizations navigate the operational, governance, and technical challenges of deploying AI at scale.

Forward Deployed Engineers act as the technical bridge between customers and Dynamo AI’s product and engineering teams. You will help customers implement AI guardrails, evaluation systems, observability workflows, and deployment architectures that meet enterprise requirements around reliability, security, compliance, and performance.

This role requires strong technical depth, curiosity, patience, and a willingness to work through complex enterprise environments. Many of our customers operate highly regulated systems with deeply embedded legacy infrastructure, approval workflows, and operational constraints. Success in this role comes from being able to understand these environments deeply, collaborate through ambiguity, and help customers incrementally operationalize AI safely and effectively.

You will regularly encounter unfamiliar enterprise systems, architectures, and governance processes — particularly within financial services, healthcare, government, and other regulated sectors. We value engineers who are excited to learn how these environments work and can thoughtfully adapt AI systems to fit real-world operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead deployments of Dynamo AI products into customer environments, including EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, and on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
  • Work directly with customer engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to understand and meet their requirements and constraints.
  • Design and validate deployment architecture across networking, identity, storage, observability, scaling, security and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot production and pre-production issues across Kubernetes, application services, databases, ingress, authentication, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build deployment automation, Helm configurations, scripts, runbooks, and validation workflows to improve repeatability.
  • Drive technical scoping, effort estimation, risk assessment, rollout planning, and production readiness reviews.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to identify product gaps, integration issues, and customer-driven improvements.
  • Communicate deployment status, risks, blockers, tradeoffs, and resolution plans clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help establish best practices for customer deployment workflows, acceptance criteria, and operational handoff.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, solutions engineering, or customer-facing engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong debugging skills across distributed systems, networking, containers, logs, metrics, and service dependencies.
  • Experience with deployment tooling such as Helm, Terraform, ArgoCD, Kustomize, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with production operations, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, scaling, reliability, and release practices.
  • Ability to work directly with enterprise customers to make them successful.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
  • High ownership mindset and ability to drive ambiguous customer problems to closure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying enterprise software into customer-controlled environments.
  • Experience with regulated or security-sensitive enterprise customers, including financial services, healthcare, government, or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with identity and access systems such as OIDC, SAML, Keycloak, Entra ID, or Okta.
  • Experience with service mesh, ingress controllers, API gateways, TLS, private networking, firewall rules, and proxy configurations.
  • Experience with databases and data services such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, S3-compatible storage, or managed cloud equivalents.
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, LLM applications, inference platforms, AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, or AI safety/governance products.
  • Prior experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, customer engineering, platform engineering, technical consulting, or production support engineering.

You Might Thrive In This Role If You

  • Enjoy working directly with customers and solving practical engineering problems.
  • Are curious about how complex enterprises and regulated industries operate.
  • Can learn unfamiliar enterprise systems, architectures, and governance processes quickly.
  • Want to help enterprises deploy AI systems safely, reliably, and responsibly in real-world production environments.
