What you'll do

As a Warehouse Associate in the pipe yard, you will:

  • Verify the quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items ready for shipment from pipe yard, as well as load trucks and receive product as needed.
  • Pull and verify the accuracy of orders for shipment from pipe yard inventory, including inter-company orders.
  • Stage and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring neat packaging.
  • Separate material to shipping points, loading outgoing shipments, and shipping orders on common carriers.
  • Organize pallets and stacks in the pipe yard and stage all material properly.
  • Complete all shipping paperwork in a timely manner and notifying salespeople of any material shortages.
  • Count, weigh, measure, or examine packaging and contents for conformance to specifications.
  • Cross-train in the fabrication shop to groove, thread, and cut pipe. Compare packed items with customer orders and other identifying data.
  • Ensure all material pulled is from the pipe yard indicated by the gun. Wrap and identify skids, and load them onto the correct truck. Assist with putting both pipe and stock away as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; 1+ year of warehouse or forklift experience preferred.
  • Skills & Certifications: Basic computer skills; forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks like crouching, kneeling, and balancing.
