Part-Time Former Admissions Officer – Regional Events (Bay Area)

What you'll do

  • Represent Empowerly at educational seminars, invitation-only dinner events, school programs, and community presentations throughout your region.
  • Deliver engaging presentations that help families understand today's college admissions process.
  • Explain holistic application review, including academics, extracurricular involvement, essays, recommendations and institutional priorities.
  • Answer questions and facilitate thoughtful discussions with students, parents and educators before and after events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Counseling teams to create and improve presentation materials.
  • Assist with and create PowerPoint and Google Slides presentations.
  • Share feedback from events to help strengthen future programming.
  • Stay informed about current admissions trends and best practices

Commitment

  • Minimum of two events per month, with opportunities to participate in additional events based on availability and regional demand.
  • Most events take place during evenings, with occasional weekends.
  • Regional travel required.
  • Reimbursement for approved travel expenses, including airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and a daily meal per diem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Former Undergraduate Admissions Officer at a selective U.S. college or university.
  • Experience participating in holistic application review and admissions committee discussions.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Comfortable using Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel throughout your assigned region. 
  • Experience presenting to parents, schools, or community organizations.
  • Admissions recruitment, outreach, or public engagement experience.
  • Passion for mentoring students and making the college admissions process more transparent and accessible.
