
The Environmental Protection Network (EPN) was founded in January 2017 and now has over 750 EPA alumni across the country volunteering their time to protect the integrity of EPA, human health, and the environment. We harness the expertise of former EPA career staff and confirmation-level appointees from Democratic and Republican administrations to provide the unique perspective of former regulators with decades of historical knowledge and subject matter expertise.
We are focused on building and defending the capacity of environmental agencies and the communities they serve to truly address the most urgent health and environmental crises.

Work will be predominantly remote, as EPN does not have an office. There will be some in-person meetings in other locations in the United States. We are looking for someone to start this position immediately.
About The Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Director of Technical Assistance leads a Technical Assistance Team of (up to) 11 staff members, including managers, senior associates, and associates of Community Outreach. This leader serves as a trusted advisor to and a member of EPN's senior leadership team. They will leverage exemplary team management skills combined with environmental justice and/or social justice expertise to meet the evolving needs of a robust team. The core focus of this role is to create an inclusive culture by establishing operational systems and structures to manage the execution of 11+ staff members.

Maintains a broad, data-informed perspective on trends and emerging needs, enabling proactive adjustments and sustained team effectiveness.
Managing Execution: This Senior Director of Technical Assistance drives disciplined execution of strategic priorities by translating plans into clear actions, milestones, and measurable outcomes for the team. Closely monitors progress, proactively addresses risks, and adjusts resources to keep initiatives on track. Ensures accountability and follow-through, consistently delivering results aligned with organizational objectives.
Team Management/Coaching & Developing Others: The Senior Director of Technical Assistance consistently leads a team of 11 with clarity, accountability, and a strong focus on results, creating an environment where expectations are well understood, performance is actively managed, and team members receive timely and relevant feedback.
