About this role

The Painter performs wet painting and powder coating operations on sheet metal components, producing standard products, specials, small parts, and templates to precise finish specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring every product leaving our facility reflects the quality ESS Metron is known for.

Location: 1505 W. 3rd Avenue, Denver, CO 80223 (We're located in the Baker neighborhood of Denver)
Work Hours: [1st Shift — 5:00 AM to 1:45 PM] [2nd Shift - 3:45 PM to 12:30 AM]


What you'll be doing

  • Champion a "Safety First" culture by modeling safe practices and promoting safety awareness across the team.
  • Perform wet painting and powder coating operations on sheet metal ranging from 16ga to 7ga.
  • Hang, wash/etch, and dry parts prior to coating and painting.
  • Apply surface finishes per blueprints, oral instructions, shop drawings, and applicable paint specifications.
  • Stage completed parts per zone and affix labels according to drawings.
  • Clean wet paint spray guns and powder coating machines regularly to maintain efficient and safe operation.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure high-quality coating on precision equipment components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

What you'll have

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience with powder coating preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise finish specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and paint specifications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.

Physical requirements and work environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods in an active manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move equipment up to [X] lbs.
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and exposure to paint fumes and chemical agents.
  • Exposure to moderate-to-high noise levels and varying temperatures.

Safety requirements

  • PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, respirator).
  • Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training.
  • Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents
