Position Overview:

The Analyst, Geostrategy will work closely with the rest of the Geostrategy team to deliver high-quality custom research to clients across different sectors. Primary areas of focus will be our Public Sector, Professional Services, and Philanthropy (PPP) clients, as well as firms in Aerospace and Defense (A&D), Healthcare, and Manufacturing, Logistics, and Industrials (MLI).

This role will involve executing, and eventually, planning and leading custom consulting projects focused on navigating geopolitical risk. The Analyst will report to the Practice Head of the Geostrategy team and can be based in London, with minimal travel required. Success in this role will be measured by analytical aptitude, client orientation, communication skills, and collaboration within the team.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on geopolitical issues across industries in the PPP, A&D, Healthcare, and MLI sectors.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to deliver sophisticated custom research projects.
    • Examples may include client workshops; public-facing thought leadership papers; consulting engagements focused on scenario planning, market prioritization, investment attraction, or risk-mapping; and tailored memos on global and industry-specific geopolitical risks.
  •  Develop and apply flexible methodological frameworks for such projects to effectively address client requests.
  • Formulate and deliver clear recommendations on the basis of our findings.
  • Present these recommendations clearly to our clients.
  • Work closely with specialists on Eurasia Group’s regional country risk, Geoeconomics, Energy, Sustainability, and Geotechnology teams to incorporate their contributions to the Geostrategy team’s work products.
  • Manage and coordinate inputs from other parts of the Geostrategy team, as well as the Eurasia Group teams listed above, ensuring the delivery of an excellent research product.


Qualifications:

  • Intellectual curiosity with a flexible mindset; eagerness to explore new topics and problem-solving approaches.
  • At least 2 – 3 years of work experience in strategy, management consulting, political risk consulting, or other roles related to politics or business.
  • Background in strategy consulting or custom research at a geopolitical risk consultancy is strongly preferred.
  • Strong presentation-making and data analysis skills and proficiency with MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A high degree of proficiency with AI platforms is a plus.
  • A sophisticated understanding of geopolitical risk and its implications for business decisions at the firm level.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in terms of oral presentations.
  • Client-facing experience is essential.
  • A degree (ideally postgraduate) in a pertinent field, such as business, international relations, political science, or economics.
