eXp - All Open Roles

DevOps Engineer - (REMOTE)

We are one of the first work-from-anywhere companies with 2,000+ team members utilizing our virtual office called eXp World. This role is work-from-anywhere in the US.

Who is eXp?

Doing the audacious is part of eXp Realty’s DNA. We are a company that rewards creative minds who can offer bold solutions, where opinions matter, anything is possible and the outcome can be revolutionary. As a global full-service real estate brokerage utilizing a 3-D, fully immersive, cloud office environment, offering 24/7 access to collaborative tools & training, eXp has broken the traditional mold of real estate. We are doing big things. Come join us!

At eXp Realty, we’re a fully cloud-based brokerage, and our platform is a critical part of how the business operates day to day. We’re looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer who cares about building reliable systems, reducing friction for developers, and continuously improving how we run in the cloud.

This isn’t a “watch the dashboards” kind of role. You’ll be working directly on the systems that support customer-facing applications, helping us scale, improve reliability, and simplify how we deploy and operate our platform.

Because we support production systems, being part of an on-call rotation is expected. We work as a team to keep this sustainable, but we also take ownership of the systems we build and run.

Security is a core part of this role. You’ll be expected to think about security in everything from infrastructure design to deployment workflows, helping ensure our platform remains resilient, compliant, and trusted.

What you will do:

This role sits right in the middle of engineering and infrastructure. A lot of your time will go toward making systems more reliable, deployments smoother, and helping teams move faster without creating chaos.

  • Owning and improving our AWS environment
We primarily run on AWS using services like EKS, ECS, and Lambda. You’ll help design, maintain, and evolve the architecture as we continue to scale.
  • Infrastructure as Code
We treat infrastructure like software. You’ll be working heavily in Terraform and CloudFormation to build and maintain consistent, repeatable environments.
  • CI/CD and release workflows
We use Jenkins and custom tooling to manage deployments. A big part of this role is continuing to simplify and automate the process of getting code to production.
  • Observability and reliability
You’ll help improve how we monitor and understand our systems using tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, ELK, or Splunk. The goal is fewer surprises and faster recovery when things go wrong.
  • Security and best practices
Security is part of the job, not a separate step. You’ll help make sure our systems are built and deployed in a way that meets our availability and security expectations.
  • Using AI to move faster
We make practical use of AI tools to speed up scripting, troubleshooting, and infrastructure work. It’s not a gimmick—it just helps reduce repetitive work so we can focus on bigger problems.

Some days start with reviewing alerts or helping troubleshoot an issue that came up overnight. Other times, you’ll be working with a team to deploy a new service, improve Terraform modules, or dig into EKS performance.

There’s a mix of short-term problem-solving and longer-term improvements—automating something manual, tightening up monitoring, or simplifying how a service is deployed.

How you will make an impact:

  • More stable systems
Fewer incidents, faster recovery times, and better visibility into what’s happening across the platform.
  • Less manual work
More automation in deployments and operations, reducing repetitive tasks for both DevOps and engineering teams.
  • Cleaner, more consistent infrastructure
Progress toward more standardized, containerized, and repeatable deployments using Terraform and CloudFormation.

How you will grab our attention:

  • Kubernetes (EKS) experience
You’ve worked with Kubernetes in production and are comfortable troubleshooting real issues—whether that’s networking, scaling, or debugging something that broke at the worst possible time.
  • AWS experience
Around 3+ years working in AWS environments where you were responsible for more than just provisioning resources—you understand how systems actually behave in production.
  • Strong scripting or programming background
Whether it’s Python, Go, JavaScript, or something else, you can write code to automate your work and solve problems efficiently.
  • Comfort working across teams
You’ll be partnering with engineers, product teams, and sometimes non-technical stakeholders, and being able to communicate clearly matters here.

If you think you’d make a great match for this position but don’t meet all the requirements, we would still encourage you to apply!
