Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all manufacturing operations at our Tualatin facility. This person will direct production, maintenance, materials, inventory, quality, and logistics while serving as a key member of the leadership team.

The Plant Manager will be responsible for driving operational performance, executing growth initiatives, managing the operations budget, and building a safe, high-performing organization focused on continuous improvement.

The Production Supervisor and department leads report to this position.

What You'll Do

Operations Leadership

  • Direct all factory operations, including production, maintenance, materials, inventory, and logistics.
  • Set the direction for training, continuous improvement, and manufacturing activities.
  • Build and maintain a culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Lead initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Production Planning

  • Build and execute production plans that meet customer demand and sales forecasts.
  • Own production schedules across departments and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Maintain inventory at appropriate levels to support production requirements.
  • Establish and manage productivity targets across operations.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure delivery commitments are achieved.

Performance Management

  • Establish, monitor, and improve KPIs for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and 5S.
  • Measure operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the operations budget.
  • Monitor expenditures and operational performance against budget expectations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Accounting as business conditions and priorities evolve.
  • Drive cost-control initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness.

Logistics & Supplier Management

  • Oversee shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material flow throughout the facility.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve quality, responsiveness, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure operational activities support customer commitments and delivery schedules.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and department leads.
  • Build a high-performing team focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Make decisions regarding hiring, compensation recommendations, employee development, performance management, and termination.
  • Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.

Facilities & Equipment Management

  • Manage facility operations, maintenance programs, and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are effective and sustainable.
  • Lead capital equipment planning and implementation projects.
  • Coordinate facility improvements and operational expansion initiatives.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Oversee environmental compliance activities, including water quality sampling and reporting requirements associated with Clean Water Services and Oregon DEQ.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the facility.

Systems

  • Ensure effective utilization of the ERP system to support inventory accuracy, production planning, scheduling, shipping and receiving, and coordination with Accounting to maintain accurate operational and financial data.
  • Improve operational visibility through reporting, process discipline, and data integrity.

Workforce, Capacity & Growth Planning

  • Develop workforce, equipment, and capacity plans to support projected business growth and customer demand.
  • Evaluate staffing, equipment, and facility requirements to ensure operational scalability.
  • Identify and address capacity constraints before they impact business performance.

Strategy

  • Lead initiatives that have a major impact on company performance and future growth.
  • Help define and execute operational strategies that support business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to improve competitiveness, scalability, and customer satisfaction.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience running a manufacturing plant with full responsibility for daily production and operational performance.
  • Proven track record of building systems, processes, and teams that transform growing operations into disciplined and scalable organizations.
  • Experience developing and managing operational budgets.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, including developing supervisors and department leads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.

Demonstrated Results

Candidates should be able to demonstrate measurable results in:

  • Building and sustaining a strong safety culture.
  • Reducing defects, rework, and customer quality escapes.
  • Lowering labor, material, and overhead costs.
  • Shortening lead times and improving on-time delivery performance.

Lean Manufacturing Experience

Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies, including:

  • 5S
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Standard Work
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Background in structural or design engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • ERP experience in a manufacturing environment.


Work Environment

  • Time split between office and manufacturing floor environments.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
  • Frequent interaction with employees, suppliers, customers, and leadership.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required on the shop floor, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
