About the team

The QRM team builds products that help customers manage quality and compliance processes at scale. The platform supports complex workflows, integrations, and data-driven decision making, requiring a strong focus on reliability, scalability, performance, and user experience.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality across web, API, and platform capabilities while helping the engineering organization scale quality engineering practices.

About the role

  • As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing quality engineering practices across the QRM product area. You will design and scale test automation frameworks, improve product testability, and partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure high-quality releases.
  • This role requires strong technical expertise, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to influence engineering decisions through collaboration, data-driven insights, and modern automation practices. You will help drive the adoption of scalable quality engineering approaches, mentor other QA engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organization.

What you'll do

  • Drive Quality Excellence: Contribute to the evolution of QA and quality engineering practices within the organization. Identify opportunities to improve testing effectiveness, release reliability, and development efficiency through automation, process improvements, and better quality visibility.
  • Architect and Scale Test Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks across web, mobile, and API layers. Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, fast feedback loops, and early defect detection.
  • Leverage AI-Enhanced Quality Engineering: Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted tools and practices that improve test design, automation development, defect analysis, and engineering productivity. Contribute to initiatives that increase testing efficiency while maintaining engineering rigor and quality standards.
  • Partner Across Teams: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to influence feature design, acceptance criteria, and implementation decisions that improve testability and product quality.
  • Promote Shift-Left Quality Practices: Engage early in the software development lifecycle to improve requirements quality, identify risks sooner, and prevent defects before implementation.
  • Ensure Comprehensive Test Coverage: Develop and implement test strategies that balance automated and exploratory approaches across regression, integration, end-to-end, performance, and reliability testing.
  • Improve Quality Outcomes: Drive measurable improvements in automation coverage, regression execution efficiency, defect prevention, release confidence, and overall product quality.
  • Lead Incident and Defect Management: Investigate complex defects, perform root-cause analysis, and provide actionable insights to engineering teams. Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and resolve quality issues efficiently.
  • Support Reliability Engineering: Leverage observability, monitoring, logging, and production insights to identify quality risks and improve system reliability.
  • Mentor and Elevate Quality Culture: Coach and support QA engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and best practices. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and shared ownership of quality.
  • Contribute to Cross-Functional Excellence: Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, design reviews, and retrospectives. Bring a quality-first perspective to engineering and release decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including extensive experience building and maintaining automated testing solutions.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript with solid software engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Appium, or equivalent technologies
  • Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks
  • Strong expertise in API testing, frontend UI automation, and end-to-end testing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and how system components interact.
  • Deep knowledge of test design techniques, test architecture, defect lifecycle management, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or equivalent technologies.
  • Familiarity with observability and APM platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, and modern software delivery processes.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence quality outcomes without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to improve test automation, test design, defect analysis, or developer productivity.
  • Experience implementing AI-driven quality engineering workflows and automation solutions.
  • Experience testing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-driven applications.
  • Experience working with cloud-native applications and services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding of modern quality engineering practices including:
    • Shift-left testing
    • Contract testing
